Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Well this is a sudden and unanticipated explosion.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Best to give Diaz the night off now.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 =Centerfield post_id=197888 time=1752292695 user_id=65]Is Soto ok? Was grimacing after.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Alonso's new bat isn't as blessed as Vientos' is.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Expecting the relief to be just shaky enough to require Diaz anyway. Warms up at least
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Chris Devenski. High leverage reliever.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Wish the game had the decency to end on the same night it started.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 Great come from behind win!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 There is some erratic-ness in him defensively, particularly throwing. But he does have SS hands and SS movement which tends to play anywhere.Nice to be on the good side of the BB game last night: 8 vs 2 (both by Senga). One walk drove in a run and three of the others eventually scored.Too often this year (and last) we've been finding ourselves on the wrong side of that equation.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 Vientos is backWe can surely hope. Last night was huge, but one game does not make a season. If he can string together good at bats over a week or two, then I will believe he has found his stroke. It would be huge for the team if he can regain his form from last season. Too many "black holes" in the Mets line up right now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 At the end of the game, after congratulating the pitcher, the players on the field all huddled together and Nimmo (I think) said, "Ok ... 'Swag!' on three! One! Two! Three! ... SWAG!"Hopefully a moment to build on for the guy.As of this morning, his OPS is at .625 and Baty's at .697 with Mauricio coming in at .696, so it is going to take some mixing and matching to find the right opportunities and hopefully bring them all along. Acuña (.561) also.
