G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Oblique injury for Sean Manaea. Shut down for a couple of weeks. IL beckons for season's start.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Cue Keith about how today's players doing too many sit-ups/crunches.Or, as it's sometimes translated: 'I played in the era before players even had obliques'!

I just can't fathom why the Mets wouldn't reach out to Quintana to get him signed and in camp.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Is Clay Holmes our #1 or #2 starter now 😂
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 This is more of an "Oh,Bleep!" injury. They didn't have enough pitching before, now they REALLY don't have enough pitching.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) While Quintana is waiting by the telephone, Brandon Sproat is looking for a telephone booth to change in. Later Edited February 24, 2025 by Guest
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 The 2024 Mets were incredibly lucky in terms of injuries. The 2025 Mets may not be so charmed.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 I imagine you mean to refer to Brandon Sproat.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Lots of good veterans—including those not named Quintana—still on the free agent market. No one stupendous, but plenty of solid innings-eaters. Guys unsigned include:Kyle GibsonLance LynnJames PaxtonSpencer Turnbull (who could be a diamond-in-the-rough)and so on and so forth. Not sure of their health statuses, though.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 And so it beginsDefine "it"?Chorus of the "We're Doomed" squad? ... from the guy who totally trashed the 2022 squad that won 101 regular season games, more than any Met team in franchise history other than the juggernaut '86 team ... all because they lost one playoff game to the Padres. But it was the playoffs! Ooooooh! The playoffs. How could they lose a playoff game?!?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Many people think highly of Brandon Sproat. He's gonna figure in at some point Jose Quintana would be a great fit but after hearing Cohen talk about low attendance I don't know if he wants to spend more money right nowDidn't Spencer Turnbull throw a no no or something like thatYou can get five innings from Kyle Gibson every time out without frequent implosion I read the average time out for this type of lat injury is 48 days
