MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 =metirish post_id=177796 time=1730239710 user_id=72]NBC 4 NY segment now from MFY stadium said the game tonight is not a sellout
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 The company I now work for, in the main NYC office, has an older gentleman who helps maintain the kitchen / cafe / break area, keeping it clean and stocked, showing newbs how to get the goddamn coffee machine to make coffee, and so on. He is a very valued member of the team, and as such, the whole company chipped in and got him a couple of tix to Game 4 tonight, since he's been a Yankees fan forever but never made it to a World Series game. They surprised him with the tickets and he wept happy tears, and was very thankful. So tonight I'm hoping the Yankees avoid the sweep, but only for him.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Nice to see FFF torture somebody besides the Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 Freeman certainly feeling unfettered and alive in this series.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 Are the Yanx going to remove that fan for yanking the ball out of Mookie's glove or are they going to award him free field level tickets to tomorrow's game like they did for Jefferey Maier?
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 I want the Yankees to lose so we can see Yankee tears falling like Tom Verducci's famed “soft rain.”
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 That is the most blatant example of fan interference that I can recall ever seeing. It was excessive and was a prolonged efort to interfere with Betts. Here should already be in the parking lot for his embarrassing lack of sportsmanship and fair play. If the Yankees did not remove him, then the league should fine them in my opinion.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 I suspect that tattoo on Luis Gil's throat is a saying of some sort, but from a distance it looks like a bar code.

The guy and his buddy were trying to argue with the umps (like the umps were going to listen to a fan) that the ball was on their side of the sidewall and therefore not interference. Except they were ignoring the part about how it was already in Mookie's glove and he was trying to wrestle it out so whether it was on one side or the other was totally irrelevant.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 More bad Yanqui base running costs them a run most likely.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 Only the second hit by the Yanx but 3 BBs [now 4] and a HBP [almost two] have given them shots to score in every inning.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Will be crushing when they ultimately lose this game anyway.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Also. You can't let them win on a night those asshole fans pull that move.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 LAD will have the lower part of the lineup due up in the 9th [6-7-8] so will need a few runners on to get the big boys up.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 I'm beginning to think the Dodgers aren't going to pull this one out.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 At least the LA starter , who went to UCONN, didn't get the loss. The MFYs didn't waste their hitting on a game when Cole was starting.Later
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 That video of the guy stripping the ball out of Betts' glove is the most Yankees fan thing ever. The entitlement, the cap, the gall -- it's terrible.

metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Mookie should sue him for assault. Motherfucker came damned close to wrenching his elbow off.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I honestly can't recognize society anymore. Hold a hate rally at MSG. Get elected President. Attack a baseball player. Get glorified on ESPN.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 At least we can still associate Yankee fandom with entitled douchery. Some things change maybe not so much
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Bleacher creatures, with the accent on creatures.Later

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 One can only imagine what would happen to these guys if they did something Really bad ... like trying to go to the bathroom during the 7th inning playing of GBA.Both are season ticket holders.
