ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 I saw Peterson listed for some work in game one Pete Alonso and his great pumpkinThis win goes down with Game six Grand Slam single and all the others
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 =seawolf17 post_id=173891 time=1728008958 user_id=91]My house shook after that home run the way I was jumping around the living room. My wife and I joked that it felt like Shea.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Early speculation is that a well rested Tylor Megill will face off against Zack Wheeler in game 1 Saturday. That makes sense to me, he'd be the only starter ready to go on normal rest, having not pitched since Monday.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Boy, if they were playing with house money before, they're REALLY playing with house money now.Have to wash last night's t-shirt and wear it again on Saturday. And Sunday. And Tuesday. And Wednesday and Thursday (if needed).https://i5.walmartimages.com/seo/Queens-Lfgm-Grimace-Mets-Shirt_5b9dac37-3e99-4655-9865-13d68a2c2d6a.f2f24fddd3971d69a5cc952c8f132f76.jpeg?odnHeight=640&odnWidth=640&odnBg=FFFFFF>

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Author Posted October 4, 2024 I feel bad for Bob Uecker, but just a little. He was in the other booth with his headset on. Here's his call:https://twitter.com/i/status/1842038050844500093https://twitter.com/i/status/1842038050844500093Later

But certainly their approach should have been better. Shortening up. Going the other way. Extending at-bats. All of them swinging out of their shoes. Awful to watch.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 I work in a large medical hospital. Seeing a lot more Mets gear on people than I would normally see , great stuff
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 It just occurred to me that it's nice that Peterson was on the mound for that. It's become so unlikely for a starting pitcher to get a chance to celebrate a series clincher on the mound anymore.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Diaz getting the win and Peterson the save is certainly some odd applesauce.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Author Posted October 4, 2024 =Fman99 post_id=173994 time=1728068982 user_id=86]I will rant (again) about the stupidity of the post wild card winning champagne showers. You advanced and that's great, but the NFL teams don't do this after every playoff win. They just keep playing. To me there should be 3 occasions for the goggles and drenching - 1) clinched the playoff spot, 2) won the pennant, and 3) winning the World Series. All the other stuff is just in between stuff you need to do to get from 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3.

Man, he is great.
