Hundred percent! Didn't help that the uniforms they were designing were awful.



Also, making lots of changes to the regular uniforms to get back to the way they were prior to this year.

It kind of did help, from another perspective.



Handsome uniforms that produced an uptick in jersey sales might have perpetuated the bad decision.

Increased exposure for the sleeve sponsors might well have had more to do with this decision than good taste.



OE: On the other hand, a lot of sleeve sponsors are really about local markets.

From the way they're playing today, I don't expect many Mets players will deserve to be in the game next year, no matter which uniforms the NL team will be wearing..

It's clear that they are intending to return to the base fabric blend of previous years and the lettering size for the player names. What's less clear — and possibly even deliberately avoided — is whether they are reversing their decision to replace the embroidery and patchwork with decals.
