Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 That's actually a joke. The two met while Spencer was playing for Team Israel and Jay was doing PR for the squad. Jay started jokingly calling Spencer his grandson on Twitter, and a lot of misunderstanding occurred. Despite the Blue Jays penchant for developing legacies, the two have no known relation.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Spencer Horwitz is the grandson of long time Mets PR director Jay Horwitz.Laterhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Horwitzwikipedia sez this isn't so. jay's tweeted it out as a joke when spencer was called up to the blue jays after they'd both been on team israel together (jay as pr director, spencer as player)dang. edgy beat me to it....

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Plus, I'm guessing that Jay possesses ZERO athletic genes in his bloodline. Will Wagner, however, IS the son of one-time NYM Billy Wagner
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Ryan Burrowes will be followed by Ryan Yarbrough as the bulk reliever
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Current magic number to seal up that second Wild Card spot is down to 20.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Those unis are vile , especially with the green TD Bank patch
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Rogers Centre had an artificial surface that was likened to a billiard table when it was built.Have they changed the surface? If they haven't, I'd warn Vientos and Alfonso to double up on their cups.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Man, Vladdy, Jr., is all kinds of slow. The Jays should be up 1-0.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Megill is not good for my blood pressure.Later
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Much better 2nd inning for the Big Drip there
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) Good, the "opener" is out, maybe start hitting eh fellers ?OE: Shows how much attention I'm paying, this is pitcher #3 apparently Edited September 9, 2024 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Not sure if Tylor was pitching around Vladdy in his first AB but when the worst the batter can do is a solo HR with 8 innings to go then go ahead and pitch to him.Putting him on wound up costing him a lot of pitches and almost a run or more.Second time around he pitched to him -- in the same none-on/two-out situation -- and K'd him.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 You really have to hate your fans to wear what the Jays are wearing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Every time the camera cuts to Toronto manager John Schneider, I wonder what DJ Stewart is doing in the Jays' dugout.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Big knock there for JD, 1-0 lead for the good guys. Now I have to multitask between the Metsies and Jetsies
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Need to do better than five hits (all singles) and two runs over the last 14 innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 And it's not like we're making a lot of loud outs either.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Yeah it feels as though we're losing this game
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 And it's not like pulling Megill for the bullpen gambit has worked so far.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 That 162-game schedule sure seems to be catching up to Alonso and Lindor.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Nimmo's throw hit some kind of divot, or that play at the plate might have been closer.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Why would you pull Megill. Just mind boggling.
