Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 I'm not sure this Young guy is a great CF yet like Gary's been saying. He's taken some odd routes tonight but has been able to out-run mmost of his mistakes. Got beat on that gapper by Tyrone though.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 They had a chance to give Diaz a night off with a five-run lead, but no. Maybe they should entice Billy Wagner out of retirement.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 1st to home on two pitches ....This game will probably end at some point. Hope it ends well.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 I have this rule about pulling a pitcher throwing a one-hit shutout.Every time I do, I PUNCH MYSELF IN THE FACE.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Not pretty, but a W is W... long live los Mets de Nueva York.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Can't remember ever seeing a 2-base Wild PitchWasn't ever worried since they never got the tying run to the plate.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 If this team gets up 10-0, they should keep stealing, taking the extra base and trying to add on. If the other team complains, just say, "Have you SEEN our bullpen?"
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Nothing is easy with this pen. Missed most of this one due to attending the Syracuse Mets game and watching Kodai Senga's rehab appearance, but was in the car for the 8th and home for the 9th, which I sweated out with the rest of yall

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Or ... they can opt not to use their bullpen, embracing their good fortune when their pitcher is throwing a one-hit shutout.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I certainly would support testing that theory.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Author Posted July 10, 2024 I wonder if the planned six man rotation will loosen up the reins on unstated pitch count limits. It's being put in mainly for Senga's benefit and probably for Peterson and Crash Christian too. But if Manaea, Severino, and Quintana are going to make fewer starts maybe those starts will be allowed to last a bit longer if they know that the recovery time will be longer too.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Finished watching this one earlier. The bullpen sux!
