ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Future All Star Francisco Alvarez is back and batting eighthMaybe he will go on a tear right out of the box
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 I hope so. but he wasn't even hitting his weight at Brooklyn.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 I don't know what Megill just threw to Gordon, but I hope he throws a lot more of those.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Uh oh.(Megill is also on my list of guys to trade).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Vientos might have had a better play at home, but there's the go-ahead run.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 I was surprised they didn't send Chisolm home on the fly to Nimmo, and the part where he was tagging from 1st was just plain stupid. He seemed quite pleased with himself standing there on 3rd base for a guy who should have already scored twice and then only gothome via a bad throw by Vientos.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 The Chisholm trail was never the most direct of routes.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Would let Iglesias hit for himself here. No one left but Torrens for the last two innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 The thing about that Ventura-as-Piaza stunt during a rain delay in a Subway Series game (just shown during the pitching change break) is that the Yanqui players were aghast that it was going on. That sort of frivolity was not allowed on their side of the fence and not a single player would dare try anything like it.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Forgot how boring these games are. Holy crap.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 And it's starting to look like we're going to lose this game on account of two poor throws.Well, that and the fact that they can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 A really soggy second half of the game for the Mets. No noise at all.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Yeah. I watched from like the 4th inning on. I think there were two hits. Iglesias erased immediately by a double play. The other was a two out single by Marte. Just a waste of time.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2024 Posted June 12, 2024 Just a dull, forgettable game from the park. And a 4-game Tuesday Night losing streak.
