Seeing how far the throw beat d'Arnaud by on the double-play, I'm thinking that maybe Baty might have been able to go for three.

We're never going to score again.

Starting with his age 34 season in 2018, Charlie Morton has made 30 starts (HOU), 33 starts, 9 starts (pandemic year) both for TBR,

and then with the Braves 33 (led the lg), 31, 30. Tonight is his 7th of this year.

iow, he's made every single fuckin' start from age 34 thru 40! while pitching to a 3.54 ERA (21% better than lg average).

Two hits thru six, one of which left the infield.

But at least we only have seven strikeouts vs one walk.

And the Mets look like they've never seen him before. You think they would have learned how to hit him by now.

1) Not the point

2) Morton's ERA vs the Mets for his career is only marginally better than his overall mark

So other than that 10-pitch sequence in the 3rd inning Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the game?

Looks like I picked the wrong weekend to try quitting drinking vodka out of a funnel.

I think I was most disappointed by them not scoring after the Alonso leadoff double in the second. This isn't a team that will profit by playing for big innings and frittering away little ones.

Four more scoreless innings by the bullpen, coming from two of the more unexpected sources. Good on them for that.

The too little too late 9th inning rally has been a hallmark of this team for the last couple of years, or so it feels to my old and grumpy brain.
