Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Seeing how far the throw beat d'Arnaud by on the double-play, I'm thinking that maybe Baty might have been able to go for three.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Quintana had to earn about six outs that inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I can't believe we slid out of that hole. The downside is that Quintana's pitch count is currently up to 147 thru 4 IPs
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 We're never going to score again.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Starting with his age 34 season in 2018, Charlie Morton has made 30 starts (HOU), 33 starts, 9 starts (pandemic year) both for TBR, and then with the Braves 33 (led the lg), 31, 30. Tonight is his 7th of this year.iow, he's made every single fuckin' start from age 34 thru 40! while pitching to a 3.54 ERA (21% better than lg average).
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 (edited) Two hits thru six, one of which left the infield. But at least we only have seven strikeouts vs one walk. Edited May 10, 2024 by Guest
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I wonder if we'll even get another hit.

You think they would have learned how to hit him by now.Later

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Two out, a three run lead, and Nimmo's arm, I would have sent Riley.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I may be off by a couple on that count. But, hey, we looked good that inning, huh?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 So other than that 10-pitch sequence in the 3rd inning Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the game?Looks like I picked the wrong weekend to try quitting drinking vodka out of a funnel.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Gotta wonder if they'll sniff .500 again in 2024.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 I think I was most disappointed by them not scoring after the Alonso leadoff double in the second. This isn't a team that will profit by playing for big innings and frittering away little ones.Four more scoreless innings by the bullpen, coming from two of the more unexpected sources. Good on them for that.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 The too little too late 9th inning rally has been a hallmark of this team for the last couple of years, or so it feels to my old and grumpy brain.
