Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Time to make Matt Olson look like Jimmy Olson.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Lopez is getting torched
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Jorge Lopez is 22-40 with a 5.48 ERA for his career.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Baseball is something else
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Interesting tactic. Live middle middle and hope for warning track outs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 That's just outlasting the other team.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Lopez was awful. But somehow, the Mets win the damn thing.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Before his breakout year with the Orioles in 2022, he was 12-31 with a 6.04 ERA.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Mets in 1974"Who pitches tomorrow?""Koosman."Mets in 2024"Who pitches tomorrow?""Everybody."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Atlanta announcers talking about the Braves being destined to win on Hank Aaron night reminds me a bit of Francesa declaringthat there was no way the Yanx would lose to the Sawx on Mickey Mantle's birthday. That was Game 7 ALCS 2004
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Geez. Nothing comes easy with these guys.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 I'm not sure easy wins over the Braves are going to be in stock in the near future. I'll take a stressful win. With a fill-in starter signed out of limbo and the back half of the bullpen, coming from behind twice against the class of the division, it really feels like a steal.Maybe this year the bullpen won't last for the Braves.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Well, nothing's supposed to come easy.Especially when facing a top team with a fill-in starter, a depleted bullpen, and falling into an early 0-4 deficit.Tonight was like Win-Win-Win territory if you ask me.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Time of Game = 3:27Not sure if that's the longest 9-inning game this season, but it probably is.There were Eight 9-inning games last season that ran north of 3:30In 2017 there were 258 such games representing 11.5% of all games or about 1 game in 9
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 At no point did I think the Mets would survive this game. Baseball is crazy. Hey. Let's never pitch Lopez again.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Wow ,nice win to wake up to.i got ny first shingles shot yesterday and was out by 9:15
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Yah I was done when it was still 4-4 there was no chance I was getting through the last half of this one. I'd have died on each of those long fly balls in the bottom of the 9th, too, had I been awake.
Radar Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Missed this one. Wins a win by the sounds of it. Against Atlanta, I'll take a win anyway it comes.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 A 4-6 start is looking a whole lot better than an 0-5 start.
