MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 The guy throws 100MPH.K/BB ratio is (eyeballing it) 2:1.We'll see.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 By my unofficial count we now have 106 relievers.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 They'll fix him, just like the others... they have the technology.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Throws hard. Command issues. Kinda like the right-handed version of the guy they signed the other day.Question. Let's assume the Mets pitching lab is for real. Does it make a difference if they sign a guy this late in the game? I mean, spring training is in two weeks. Is that enough time to fix him?

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 I've been reading more about this guy. Rough start, strong second half. Good WHIP as a reliever. I think I've talked myself into this being a good signing. I'm also optimistic about the upside of the bullpen as a whole. I still think the rotation is pretty rough, and I don't see how we can expect the offense to be any better than it was last year. But maybe an improved bullpen can get us in the hunt.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 I like that he's transitioning from starting to relieving, he had a taste of a successful team with Baltimore last season, and at $3.35 million, his contract is highly fungible.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 Amazingly, after years of outright gas from deGrom and Diaz and Syndergaard et al., the Mets were one of just three teams last season not to throw a single fastball in the triple digits. If the idea is to get bullpen with a lot of different and distinct looks, Fujinami has a look they've been lacking. He also has options, which is another asset the bullpen can certainly use
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Eight days in and we're still waiting on the announcement of this. Four more days and the 60-Day IL is available.I see the benefit of the delay, but I hope Stoins doesn't try to get too clever like Eppler.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Mount him? I hardly know him!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Look out, Daniel Ray Hererra
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 You know, I'll bet five of us could be the Mets' starting rotation, and 20 of us the bullpen, and we'd be just as reliable. Though our shoulders would probably suddenly fall off, like theirs do.
