ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 This game looks real easy for the Mets. 12-1 easy.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 it's a trap. well, at least it could be.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Max Scherzer(#21, 37, RHP, 6-2, 2.09)Patrick Corbin(#46, 32, LHP, 4-14, 6.49)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Ahh, Patrick Corbin! The bitter pill that a team might have to swallow if they want to get Juan Soto.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 "Alright fine. We'll take Corbin, but you have to let us hit against him tonight first."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Gotta say, winning six straight then going to meet the worst team in the league while having Scherzer and deGrom lined up is a pretty nice situation to be in.It also tends to instill the idea that anything short of a dominating sweep represents utter failure.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 I'd be okay with a mundane sweep.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 I want everyone to just get into a nice groove, sweep or not. I worry this could be like the Coors Field effect, where batters tee-off against garbage pitching (or altitude suppressed pitching) And then when they get to Atlanta and the pitches break more, their timing is off.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Doesn't Atlanta have the 2nd (or maybe 3rd) highest elevation in all of baseball?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 maybe? in the way that like, AA is the third highest level of baseball.https://i.imgur.com/SEzavJU.png>
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 (edited) Yeah, Atlanta is higher than many people realize, about 1,000 ft. And, since most major cities are on harbors, lakes, or rivers, that, I believe, made ATL the highest ML city pre-Denver, and it's probably near Phoenix for next now.oe: cross-posted with above Edited August 1, 2022 by Guest

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Soto's last Nat blast?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 (edited) Seems like an early PH move for Buck.[VBach for JDD, Top 5th, 1 run lead, runner on 2nd] Edited August 1, 2022 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Pulling a guy one out into the fifth with nobody on base after he just struck out the #3 hitter is kind of ass.Not that I'm complaining. Getting deep into the bullpen in the first game of the series is a gift that keeps giving. As for pinch-hitting, the Nats have no lefties in their pen, so turning the DH over to Vogelback for the rest of the night makes some sense.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 JD pulled out. Trade?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 I think it's more about Vogelbach reaching in the mid .500's as a Met and the last lefty being out of the game.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Three hits for Nimmo.Steve Cishek in the game for Washington, and I guess that's where he's been this year. Good career for that guy, while rarely getting to close.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Ah, shit. Marte taking one off the hand.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Marte plunked - again. We need him for the Atlanta series!
