bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Author Posted June 12, 2022 Pete blasts one and ESPN shows Diaz drinking water. Unless he was doing a Danny Thomas-like spit-take, just show Pete.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 I'm really glad that Pete didn't break his hand the other night. Seems to be worth mentioning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 No need to mention how big that extra run is ... but I guess I just did.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Nice crush job by Pete. Now shut 'em down, Edwin.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Edwin gets a 1st out K on a nasty 2-4 pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Keeping the MVP on the bench is a really sweet gift from Phil Nevin.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 5-5 trip to the west coast while we played at least some of our worst games of the year and had our roster compromised like never before.Next Up: Tuesday Night Mets 🌙

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 “Winning the game was really important for the Mets tonight.”“That's true, because every game you win is also a game you don't lose.”“The Yankees have won so many games, and the Mets have won many, too.”
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Saturday night's blowout may have been a lost cause, yet those last four runs in the ninth to make it cosmetically better — 11-6 rather than 11-2 — gave me heart heading into tonight. Usually I'd shrug off losing by a little less than a whole lot, as it was still a loss by plenty, but it felt like a reminder that this team doesn't give up and was gonna be back in its usual form. Also, four of the five losses on this trip were simply lousy games (offset by some very fine wins), not games that got away or came oh so close. Given that they happened on the West Coast and from the vantage point of a still substantial lead, it feels as if there was no bullet and no dodging.Five and Five and ready to rev it up again.
