It's Tony Night! And it's Taijuan night as he faces Patrick Sandoval on ESPN SNB.

Trout has 3 career HR's off Walker but he likely has that many off most pitchers.

A 5-5 west coast swing will sit much better in the gut than a 4-6 one, especially as the rest of the NL East seems determined to go undefeated during the month of June.

Starting to werry a bit. Was kind of hoping they could stitch things together until at least Scherzer got back. But Bassitt, Carrasco and Walker are not exactly meeting the moment.

Billy shoulda made that Luis Castillo Trade. Cough

Mets running into a lot of lefties on this West Coast swing. It's good to have Alonso and Marte back to help face them, but I don't really think of them as back back quite yet.

I haven't personally felt Marte's quad, but I would've expected him to come back in the DH slot, initially.

Also notable — playing with a DH allows a team to continue to stack up pitchers. That makes games longer and everything, but it also leads to more hitters playing every day, and that's pretty hard considering the Mets are banged up at several slots.

I guess these are werries. Anyhow, I'm calling for a long Nido homer today.

Wayne relayed Buck's thinking last night that Marte is better off staying loose in the outfield than potentially going cold between DH ABs. “Also,” I added in my head, “the DH is a candy-ass position.”

Seriously. I just mentally punched David Ortiz in the side of the head when I read this (then I mentally ran all the way down the block).

I'm watching on ESPN Deportes. Better knowing half what they're saying than

a hundred-percent not caring what they're saying on the mother station.

Just as Juan Lagares was (and maybe still is) a guy whose infield skills made him a better outfielder, McNeil is a guy whose outfield skills have made him a better infielder.

CBS radio booth: "It's totally not what he's about, but having him wired for sound is what's good for baseball."
