Like Grandy as a player & person. Certainly has the personality to run a dugout -- that part of it is largely a people managing task which you figure he'd be good at. Would likely be lesser than Buck at planning for scenarios multiple innings in advance simply because he doesn't have Buck's decades-long apprenticeship at it (he's been at this since he was like 25 y/o). And then you worry whether choosing Grandy would signal that they (whoever They turn out to be) want someone more willing to take marching orders from the F.O.

I really liked Granderson as a player. I would love to have him with the Mets organization in some manner, possibly as a coach or minor league manager, but I don't think I would want to put him in charge of the MLB team for his go at managing.
