Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Hmmm... The only one I can think of is Pedro Martinez. I'm going to guess that there are three that I'm overlooking so I'll say four.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 13, 2021 Author Posted October 13, 2021 Grimm comes up short in the Sox KNOWLEDGE. The answer is more than four.I'm going to try to take care of several at once here. Stand by.Scoring Seawolf: 12Ben Grimm: 6Frayed Knot: 5

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 13, 2021 Author Posted October 13, 2021 No, and I actually phrased that incorrectly. So I'll give you another shot.Which first-round-selected Major League pitcher, who ultimately became a Met, had the shortest Mets career?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 13, 2021 Author Posted October 13, 2021 Not the doctor.Lefty and Marshy, you've got questions above, good for big points!

MMM is one of those, and THAT IS CORRECT FOR THREE POINTS!Your Marshmallow Milkshake Bonus Question: How many times did Ron Darling pinch-run in his career?I am going to guess 12 times. (This is not scientific. it was his uniform number and his first number, 44, is too high.)My next guess: Tom Veryzer!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 13, 2021 Author Posted October 13, 2021 Twelve comes in low. I like your spirit, however.I'll work on a couple more scorings while we wait for Lefty Specs to answer his two bonus questions.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 13, 2021 Author Posted October 13, 2021 Lefty is clearly delayed by the devastation of having two HIGH VALUE questions on the board at once. But lest I let proceedings grind to an ABSOLUTE halt, I've continued to score. Unfortunately, that means Lefty has to juggle one more question (though not the two more that he was looking for).A new display of data below may perhaps prove more or less useful. Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 Milkman's bonus question: Which year's draft has thus far produced the first round that has included the most future Mets?Bonus question answer: I'm going to guess 1974. Those bad late 1970s and early 1980s Mets teams were filled with last chances and "take-a-flyer" guys, and it seems like players drafted in the early 1970s would have progressed and been given up on by the later years.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 14, 2021 Author Posted October 14, 2021 No bonus points there either. There was a first round that included eight future Mets, but it wasn't 1974.Somebody poke Lefty Specialist or this kwiz is going to die the death it deserves.
