Anderson would go on to lose his next 19 decisions and never win another major league game.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Have I mentioned that I hate the 7:30 starts? I can't even make it to the end of the home games that start 30 minutes earlier. Georgia really can eat a UHaul truck full of dicks.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I once read that Walter Johnson never threw inside to a batter because he was afraid of hurting them.Jacob DeGrom throws 102 MPH.I hope he takes a more Bob Gibson approach tonight when some of those Braves hitters dig in and look comfortable up there. And if he should happen to hit one of them he can blame it on the new "clean baseball" rule.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Yeah, I'm not going to root for throwing at batters. And blaming such a thing on stronger enforcement of a rule (which isn't new) is just a tacit admission that he's been violating it all along, and his teammates that aggressively spoke up for him two weeks ago are flat-out liars.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 aka: same lineup as always for the BravesOK they've lost Td'A and Ozuna, and kind of went into the season with TBD in CF. But Freddie has played every game (and has for years), so has Albies, Swanson, and Riley, while Acuna missed about six games back in April. And I'm still not convinced that they're not going to talk Markakis out of retirement for the stretch drive where he'll dust off his uni and play the final 40 games in a row while also hitting better than he did in his 20's with Baltimore.I sometimes wonder what color the sky is in a world where consistency like that is the norm rather than a pipe dream
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Hoping that the Mets can leave Ian Anderson out there somewhere. Sitting on a park bench, maybe
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I thought I'd never see Conforto get a clutch single ever again
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Boooooo...Albies need to see a fastball or two.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 The faux-injury and the replay couldn't have helped Jake.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Wow.I guess this is the mid-season bad game that just gets him mad.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Author Posted July 1, 2021 His ERA's now at 1.04.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I also didn't think I'd see that
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 You don't want to take a guy for granted, but this is uncomfortably Eickhoffian.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 So I guess he's human after all.
