Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I can't wait to see video of guys playing catch. Spring is nigh!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I need live streaming cameras on all the back fields in PSL. Make it happen, Stevie C.!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I actually like that the start of things is somewhat delayed this year.ST is too long to begin with but, seeing as how it's big business for snow-bird dollars in FLA and ARZ, they've been ramping it up earlier and earlier in recent yearsto the point where P & C time really just signifies the start of a whole lotta nuthin. A shorter and more local ST is probably better all around.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Yeah I sorta hate pitchers and catchers day since it heralds the arrival of the longest and shittiest 6 weeks of the year. Weather sucks, nothing to do especially if you are not gay for college basketball, boring meaningless games, few interesting storylines that are beaten to death within hours, anticipation, injuries, rain and snow, no holidays that are fun unless you are a Irish guy or religious guy. Pitchers and Catchers suuuuuuucccccckkj
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 It is kind of a let down. I like the pictures though. And it gets fun once the games start.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 I've always liked it, but I associate it with my dad, who would call me each year on this day to tell me that it meant spring was coming. Can't find much in the way of a ST broadcast schedule, at least not on SNY's web site. First game is Monday 3/1 and ESPN lists the Thursday 1 PM matinee vs. the Nats as their first televised game.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 For me, Opening Day is what I look forward to. Pitchers-and-catchers is a milestone along the way, but Opening Day is where it's at. (43 days from now, according to Alexa. Unless, that is, COVID has other plans.)

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Now that the position players have reported, the next milestone will be March 1.No, not because it will be the first spring training game.It will because that is when we will see a box score - my signal that baseball has started.Later
