Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Officially announced -- The Mets have announced the departures of Brodie Van Wagenen, Omar Minaya, Allard Baird, Adam Guttridge and Jared Banner. Bye bye, boyos. Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Please pick up and put back any chairs you might have flung in a fit of frustration. Thanks.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Holy shit, Steve's not playing. Now he and Sandy have to reconstruct an entire front office. This ride is gonna be wild.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 I guess it'll all sink in better in the coming days as election week winds down.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 My son texted "bye idiot". I told him that he needed to be specific today.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Does Omar deserve his own thread?Later
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 I think I trust Sandy to rebuild a team from scratch more than I trust BVW to half-heartedly implement Cohen/Sandy's thing

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Is it already open season on free agents?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Omar's failed twice, and Brodie (a clever and overconfident Jeff guy) had 2 seasons with a good core but underperformed, let a good free agent go, made an all-time terrible trade, and screwed up his only shot at naming a manager. Neither I don't believe could be called geniuses and I'd be shocked if either got a job running a baseball team ever again.I don't doubt Omar meant well but he was part of Sandy's assassination at the start.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Gracious statement from Bro recognizing Fred for being a nice guy who treated employees like family (I believe this, it's just that he's incompetent), and Jeff for his energy and Citifield, a perfectly okay park nobody really loves and Cohen for being "aggressive." hmmhttps://twitter.com/TimBritton/status/1324825175750250496https://twitter.com/TimBritton/status/1324825175750250496
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 So... who's the GM front-runner? This an incredible opportunity to load the front-office with a bunch of smart people in what should be one of one of the most desirable organizations in baseball.I'm talking about the Mets, guys!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Look at the Heck Yeah thread for a start

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 She would be just as qualified for Mets GM as she was for her current gig.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 You know what would be really aggressive? If Cohen also fired David Wright.
