Supposedly his (football) teammates loved him, so who knows.

My point was that that sort of celebrating despite the team's position in the game, one which seemed so out of place to me then, is now commonplace including in the one sport that used to shun that sort of stuff.

Meanwhile, a funny thing has happened on the way to a Nationals domination.

If Houston wins this, one storyline will be that Urquidy came up bigger than Ross in their respective starts.

If the Astros win tonight, the Nationals are done.

If the Nationals win tonight, we get a Game Seven.

Win-Win (unless Natlimination is your foremost priority).

I'm rooting for Houston, sure.

On the other hand, they could be a dominant team for years that'll be tough for anybody to get past.

The most annoying thing about watching a World Series - any World Series: Do the announcers ever talk about players' season stats? Or at least show them? Because obviously, whatever a player did in his last three games is much more meaningful than what he did over the first 162 games.

If HOU loses the series, remember the AB when Altuve wildly swung at 3 pitches in a row with 1st and 3d and 1 out.

I wouldn't have called that (the 1st base interference).

If the ball hits him a stride or two earlier then, yes. But in his final stride where else is he supposed to be?

7th inning of a World Series Game 6 might not be the best time to go pointlessly red-ass, Davey Boy.

Wow. A lot of bad umpiring there. And Martinez shouldn't let himself get tossed in a World Series. First ejection since Whitey Herzog?

So they waited five minutes before deciding to go to the headphones ... and then they spent about the same amount of time ON the headphones ... all for a call which they knew in advance was NOT subject to review!!

But it will be limited and quick ...

Justin Verlander is staring down the barrel of an 0-6 / 6.39 World Series record.

If you're the Nats you GOTTA be sending Strasburg out there for the 9th.

He's at about 7 innings worth of pitches thru 8 and besides, what are you saving him for ... a start next week?!?

Hopefully, that was the last game for Strasburg in a WSH uniform.

Verlander doesn't deserve Kate Upton.

As much as I dislike anyone associated with WSH, Turner has my respect for calling out Torre ("he's right there!") who only shows his face for tea, charity, and to stop the Mets from wearing what they want to wear on 9/11.

I'm not quite sure what they expected Torre to do. I don't think I want to live in a world where some exec in the stands is empowered to overrule calls on the field.

As it was the umps were already too indecisive: they made the call right away but then discussed it for five minutes AND THEN went to the headphones for five more even though it's not a reviewable play.

It was a judgement call: Make one and stick to it!

Tonight will be the 40th WS Game 7 in MLB history. The home team is 19-20
