Hell, they're going to wind up there anyway. Kendrick PH'ing this time.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 So limiting Lugo to just 10 pitches last night turned out to have a positive effect in today's game as he gives us two scoreless. So, y'know, there's that.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 I purposely stayed away from this game until 4 PM. Even now I won't watch, just following gamecast.Back in the day a 4-run lead in the 9th made you feel confident. Now I just want to reach for the Pepto.
86dreamer Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Much love to Lugo for that. I still would have pitched him last night....
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 So what to do with Familia? Ignore him for the last month like Terry did to Ollie Perez?
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 There goes the streak. Took a great play to do it.Bravo, Wilson. It was an amazing run.
86dreamer Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 So close. Congrats to the Buffalo. Lets hope he doesn't get another AB.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Ramos swung at about seven balls there.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Haggerty gets an appearance
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Let's bat around and get Buffalo one more swing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 ML debut as a pinch-runner ... and he [Haggerty] goes 1st to 3rd on a single that most likely would have seen Frazier stop at 2nd

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Four run lead, 9th inning, our 'Win Pct' is up to 21%Get the leadoff hitter and it'll jump to 23%
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 That was Jerry who ignored Perez. And it was more than a month.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Howie: "Justin Wilson coming in to a non-save situation"Well, it may not be a "save" situation, but that doesn't mean it's not a save situation. After last night, we most definitely need saving.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Fake Sweep in the Books
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 This is a great win, and a must-win. But so painfully close to sweeping this series.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Edgy MD wrote:That was Jerry who ignored Perez. And it was more than a month.I stand corrected. Of course, 9 years later Ollie is still getting major league hitters out. So go figure.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Win Tuesday's game and that's 5 of 6 from Philly & Washington and everyone's feeling good about it.Instead, we're still down about the whole week and are going to be here 20 years from now as old men (or even older men) cursing about the time we blew that 6-run 9th inning lead during a pennant race to the Nationals (before they left for Portland).Oh well.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Playing much better than during the homestand, nearly sweeping AT the Wild-Card leaders... and still just about 5 out of the WC.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Mets need to win their upcoming one-game series Friday night. They have 22 one-game series following that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Man, how tight did they look in the ninth?Wilson fielded the comebacker cleanly for the first out, but hooked his throw to first pulling Alonso into the baseline. Had the runner been fleet and busting it, it might have been an ugly situation.Davis' basket catch for out two looked like he was trying to catch an egg with a glove that wasn't broken in.Rosario fielded the ball cleanly, then stepped on the bag and threw to first, indicating either (a) he didn't know how many outs there were, or ( more likely, just wanted to add an extra out to be safe in case somehow the runner heading to second was called safe, even though he had the guy by a mile. Or perhaps © he knew how many outs there were, but didn't quite fully trust himself.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Maybe after Trea Turner last night, Rosario decided, "I'm going to turn two on every ball, regardless of the number of outs I think have been recorded."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Something like.Anyhow, if they weren't all that tight, maybe I was just projecting, like, a lot.
