Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Jed Lowrie's knee hurts. Will have an MRI.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 My right elbow hurts. I think maybe I have a bone chip (or seven).
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 There is nothing more disheartening then seeing a newly added guy injure himself during Spring Training. It is the shortest route to ruin.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2019 Author Posted February 20, 2019 Is this the record for "new guy hurts himself"?What are, we one week into spring training?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Ah, he's only gonna be 35 in April. I'm sure everything's gonna be just fine.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Is this the record for "new guy hurts himself"?I feel like Scott Erickson, apart from coming up injured while warming up for his debut, also got hurt at the top of his first (and only) Mets camp.Brandon Nimmo has reportedly been held out of practice with shoulder soreness.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Good news for Lowrie. Nothing structural. They'll bring him along slowly.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Diagnosis is left knee capsule sprain. Opening Day probably Jedless. Good news is if Lowrie's out long enough, getting him back will be like "adding a Jed Lowrie" at the deadline.Or "with the Lowrie insurance money added to that from Wright and Cespedes, the Mets could be in position to significantly add to payroll in 2020..."
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Todd Frazier has an oblique strain. Will get a cortisone shot. No timetable for return, increasing the chances that when he does recover, "it will be like adding a Todd Frazier at the trade deadline."
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 How long til Cano pulls a something?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 Christ. These guys are more snakebit than anyone. I think the team doctors are all just crazy shamans.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Brandon Nimmo dealing with bad reaction to chicken he didn't thoroughly cook. Only the Mets, huh?Or anybody, actually.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Despite spending the night puking his guts up, I'll bet Nimmo never stopped smiling.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 (channeling Fmann) He would have been better off just choking his chicken.Later
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Brandon Nimmo dealing with bad reaction to chicken he didn't thoroughly cook. Only the Mets, huh?Or anybody, actually.Every team has an instance of this every season. Usually they just call it "stomach flu," which isn't a thing.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 He's from Wyoming. He prob just likes his chicken medium-rare.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Amed Rosario hit in hand by pitch in Red Sox game, leaves game, goes for x-ray.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Rosario's x-ray negative.Also, Nimmo's back from his virus that it has been confirmed was not chicken-related.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2019 Author Posted March 8, 2019 Lowrie getting better. From Matt Ehalt:Infielder Jed Lowrie (left knee) hopes he can begin baseball activities soon while Todd Frazier (left oblique) took ground balls for the first time Thursday since being sidelined.“Making good progress," Lowrie said. "Hopefully with a little bit of testing and making sure things are progressing well, I can begin baseball activities soon.”Lowrie has been participating in lower-half exercises that he described as low impact. He did not want to speculate on whether he'll be ready for opening day.“I'm looking at what I can do today because I think the focus has to be on getting this right so there's not a recurrence," Lowrie said.https://www.northjersey.com/story/sports/mlb/mets/2019/03/07/carlos-gomez-excited-back-ny-mets-where-his-career-started/3086855002/https://www.northjersey.com/story/sports/mlb/mets/2019/03/07/carlos-gomez-excited-back-ny-mets-where-his-career-started/3086855002/
