I'm starting to come around on Steve Gelbs. Was pretty awkward at the beginning, but he's starting to grow on me a bit. It's tough, because he followed Kevin Burkhardt. But I guess he's ok as a local guy.

I really don't like Andy Martino though. Way too smug and full of himself. I don't see that he brings anything to the table. I don't think he can understand anything from a fan's perspective. Enough of this guy already.

Really gonna miss Taylor Rooks.

I concur on all. Although I always thought Burkhart was overrated by Mets fans.

Why no Taylor? I sad.

Also did I see somewhere (maybe here) that Zeile is replacing Nelson as the primary guy on Mets Pre and Post?

They must have sent Figueroa down to small-market affiliate. His wife will be pissed.

I'm not familiar with Taylor Rooks. It occurs to me that the only SNY programming I watch is Mets Hot Stove, and I guess he or she (I just Googled the name... she, definitely she!) hasn't appeared on that show.

Todd Zeile seems to be a pretty smart guy. He was rumored to have been considered for Mickey's job last year, and I liked the idea.

I don't dislike Andy Martino, but I can easily see how he can wear thin.

Gelbs is okay. I wish he would talk more about the time he visited Maja in her shower.

I like Kevin, he's definitely on the FOX fast track.
Nelson grew on me, and seeing him on MLB too he's got game.
Taylor can do whatever she wants afaic.

Gelb, meh...

This just in: I don't like you either!

Now back you you, Bob.

Gelbs is a meh, Martino, I would not be surprised if he is good buddies with Jeff, seems the type, worm his way in , get a good gig ...I will miss Figgy, I really thought he grew into his job and as the Mets got worse he got better ...look, it's pre and post game stuff, it's not like we are glued to it.

Winter meetings have had me hanging on Martino's every word, which is the worst part of the winter meetings.

Is Martino the guy someone here dubbed "track suit" or was that another reporter (Rubin?)

He looks like a guy in a low budget sitcom portraying what he thinks an idiot sports writer would look like.

And, yeah, Martino was 'track suit'.

If you think Martino's smugness is suffocating when televised... you should check out his Twitter account. Or, better yet, don't. God, I miss hanging on Adam Rubin's every off-season word.

WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN

I feel like Tracky's heart is in the right place but his perspective is not always right. He's still a little college-newspapery.

Burkhardt grew on me eventually. Gelbs has not. He's a doofus. And those interviews he has with random people/celebrities/old ballplayers/family members of the rookie on the mound are excruciating. Channel-changing stuff.

Martino's persona emits the inverse of "one can disagree without being disagreeable." Even if you robustly agree with what he's said or written, you still can't watching him or reading him.
