MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 OK. So you're sitting there, minding your own business. Suddenly, the name of an obscure Met from long ago pops into your mind (for no good reason). You know. Those names that make you go "OOOOH".Yesterday, I thought of Bill Hepler.Anybody else have that happen to you?Who was the player?Later
Guest cooby Guests Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Well, last week I was playing bingo with my daughter when I noticed the only number she still needed was Mike Jorgenson. I'm sure there have been a few # 22's since him.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I remember Jorgensen as 16...For 22 I think of Donn Clendennon, Ray Knight, and Al Leiter. And with a little further thought, Kevin McReynolds and Kevin Plawecki.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I'm reading a book that mentions Bruce Berenyi who I never remember seeing pitch for the Mets (Baseball Reference says that he appeared in 17 games total in 1985 & 1986 when I was most avidly watching the Mets) but ALWAYS ended up with multiples of his baseball card.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I returned to the airport parking lot late on Monday night to find one of my tires very low on air. The airport had a staffer come out with a compressor, and he was so prompt, nice and helpful that I wanted to send a note to the airport singing his praises. I asked for his name, and he said "Doug."How am I going to remember that, I thought. Doug Sisk popped into my head. It worked!

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 My stream-of-consiousness post got cut off somehow and now I can't re-stream-it or it won't ring trueOh well. At least the Mets are discussing trading the top draft pick for a 36 year old redundant 2Bman and a fucking relief pitcher.I wonder if Omar is involved somehow?
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 I just tried doing this list mentally, and when I got to 31, the first Met I thought of was Bruce Berenyi, not Miks Piazza. Was that because of the other thread from today with the Berenyi references?
