(I'm the last person who should be telling an age joke, but.. )

I thought Julio Franco's birth certificate was destroyed when somebody dropped the stone tablet.

Renteria and Colon for me.

As far as I can tell, Jason Tyner was the first Met younger than me.

I think we're about the same. Alex Rodriguez and Bartolo.

A-Rod/Bartolo here, too. I remember being a ball player in high school and reading about a shortstop same age as me in Miami who was supposed to be really good. Can't believe that turd is now dating J-Lo.

Dating J-Lo is the reward you get for being the best shortstop ever to wear an MFY uniform. (And never being allowed to prove it because of a bigger, egotistical, turd.)

Brian Greer - a guy I have no memory of, and for good reason. He debuted as a 18 y/o just three months after being drafted out of a California HS by the Padres in the 1st round / 8th overall pick.
But, despite that pedigree, he landed himself a total of just 4 ML ABs in 1977 & '79, taking an oh-fer for his career. Kicked around the minors thru '83 but his .210 BA wasn't going to earn him another shot.

And, of course, Julio Franco.
No, not Francisco (a guy who is, at last check anyway, still dead)

Ed Nunez and Jamie Moyer.

I'm almost certain the answer to those are Gregg Jefferies and Julio Franco.

The first Met younger than me might be Stan Jefferson, depending what time of day he was born. Otherwise it's David Cone. The last Met older than me was Julio Franco.

Mine are Julian Tavares, who was born in May 1973 and debuted as a 20 year old, and former met Latroy Hawkins, who hung it up in 2015.

Jose Rijo at the younger end. He debuted 4/5/84, when we were both 19. With the MFYs. Who would have thunk?

Jamie Moyer on the older end.

Among Mets, I believe it's John Mitchell and Julio Franco. If I'd come out of the womb when I was supposed to instead of overstaying my welcome for three weeks, I would have been older than Dwight Gooden, who debuted two days after Rijo.

For Mets, I think it's Todd Hundley and Julio Franco.

Jefferies is a month older than me; and I don't think anyone younger came up to the Mets again before Todd.

Ricky Seilheimer was the first player to debut younger than me. I don't recall having ever heard of him, but he made is debut as a 19 year old catcher for the Chicago White Sox. Appeared in 21 games and was never heard from again.

Julio Franco was the last player older than me. He last played in 2007 as a 48 year old.
