Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Defense has been there for deGrom tonight. Not this inning, however.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Mets defense is costing DeGrom. He should have been out this inning 2 hitters ago.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Struck him out! deGrom dialed it up to Murphy to put an end to the frivolity in the seventh.Gary Cohen. All-star.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 DeGrom takes matters into his own hands and blows Murphy away with a high fastball.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 grommet really sacked up there and said try to hit this.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Devin Mesoraco doesn't always strike. But when he strikes, he strikes late.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 DeGrom hustling almost beats out a routine grounder to 1st due to lazy defense by the Rockies.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 This is a good game. A really, really good game. We don't even need to hit to score runs now.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 But we do, anyway. Incidentally, DEVIN MESORACO anagrams to I DAMN COORS EVE.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Mile-high fun, save some for tomorrow...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Mets pull within a half game of San Diego in the overall standings.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 NIMMBINO?Come on, I could do better than that without out trying.METS ADD BRAN TO THEIR DIET!THE SECRET OF NIMM!OH, YES, WYOMING!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Now THAT is the kind of lead I would be confident turning over to Sewald. And I hope he gets at least 20-30 more of those chances this year.Later

Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 the Mets should fly his family out to every game.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 I know we are all caught up in Nimmo-mania, but can I just express my complete and utter admiration for Jacob deGrom? The guy is so good, I watched this game and actually forgot they were playing at Coor's Field. I mean, I knew it was Coor's Field, but it wasn't "Well that's Coor's Field for you" or "Pitches just don't bite the same way here"...bla bla bla. Just going about his business, calmly limiting them to 1 ER. And for running out that last ground ball and making it that close. Also, the minute his ERA dipped below 1.53, Gary Cohen was sure to mention it. It's funny how we all know that complete line. 24-4. 1.53. 268. 8.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 The DeGrominator is a thing of beauty. He just gets better every year, and this is a guy who started as the NL ROY.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 deGrom is so low-key and un-flashy. He just gets the job done. It's a shame to see him pitch so well and have it wasted most times. On a decent team he'd have 10 wins by now.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Everybody in the world remarked on that third-strike pitch to Murphy after the errors gave up a run. He was just like, fuck off everybody. It was beautiful.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 can't find a gif of that last pitch (and can't make one myself on my phone due to copyright) but there is this[tweet] [/tweet]
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 There was just something in his body language that went beyond the hellaciousness of the pitch
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Yeah, as that ball hit the glove, I was thinking: "Seven years, $200 million."Probably not a good idea to let a pitch trigger a seven-year extension, but I thought what I thought. You manage your team your way and I'll manage my team my way.
