Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Caleb Smith is one of those lefties that we would've stacked a bunch of righthanders against, but Wright, Rivera, Céspedes, Frazier, d'Arnaud, Plawecki, and Lagares ain't cooperatin'.Go, healthy guys!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Righties, schmighties. The Marlins suck. Let's continue to make them remember that.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 For the second straight game, the pitching matchup will favor the Marlins. Last night, we got lucky with Vargas. Maybe we get lucky tonight. In his first start of the year, Zack pitched 7 innings and allowed 1 run against the Marlins. Maybe he can do that again.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 We've got to beat the Marlins like 17 of 19 this year if we want any chance at this thing. Go get 'em, fellas.

We're on the hook for $6, $8 and thenpossibly $8 again (but at least $2) million on the guy. He really shouldn't besucking as bad as he was?Anyway, windy and showers this evening in Corona but they should get it in.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 And why did Rosario not make the effort Cabrera made to at least try and knock it down?

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Just tuning in...is Bruce out of the lineup just because it’s a lefty and Bautista got to the park in time, or did something else happen?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 That is the likely reason. They finally smartened up and are not sitting Nimmo.Unleash the Bautista!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Welcome Aaron Laffey (Taffy):http://www.somersetpatriots.com/news/?article_id=3297
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 So...when do they release Reyes? Tomorrow? Or immediately after tonight’s game?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 He really is done. He might survive until Cechinni is healthy? Or maybe they go with 14 pitchers..
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Nice job by Wheeler. Matz would have fallen apart after Reyes' 1st error but Wheeler stayed with it, overcame the 2d error, and looked good.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Wheeler did look good, and strong in the 6th, good stuff
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Yeah, the margin for error is unfortunately non-existent. Offense, man.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Utterly predictable, sadly. We can’t be expected to win games with Nido, Flores, and Reyes as regulars.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Ramos looking much more Ramosesque tonight, sadly for us.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Terrific job by Nimmo, staying alive until Barraclough beat himself.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 And we pull it into the shift. BlehhFuck the shift!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 - Until the Dietrich HR off Ramos, I really thought this was one of those games we were going to pull out in the end.- Wheeler pitched well, the only problem being that the one inning where he got himself into trouble (couple of hard hits on top of a couple of loud outs) was the same inning where he also had shit luck (error plus a couple of seeing-eye hits). He could have survived one or the other but not both.- They're making too many mediocre pitchers look like Grover Jason Alexander. Every young and/or journeyman pitcher is seemingly having their best day of the season at CitiField- Y'know who'd be a good replacement for Reyes? ... TJ Rivera
