Things could always be worse ... six teams are idle tomorrow as the league adjusts to this new longer season and it's Thursday kick off.

Sunday off days. That's not stupid or anything.

I'm guessing Flores plays first and Reyes or Evans cracks the lineup also.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Save that stuff for later in the season when guys get tired.
Of course, when Wilmer hits a game winning dinger and Evans gets three hits, I'll say "good move"

I like this, and I have to say our new manager is making opening week 2018 most interesting.
LETS GO METS!

Prediction: Wilmer does something. I'm not gonna say if it's a good or bad thing. Just, some thing.

Molina acts as if he never hit a HR before. If Jose did that, the Mets would be called "unprofessional". F Molina and F SNY for the continuous BJs of that human sack of shit. #realtalk

Not an auspicious start for Matz-- 2 walks and 25 pitches in the first, 90 pitches through 4.

I've seen too many starts like this from him to think that this is an aberration.

Blech.

The only thing I'll say in Matz's favor today is that at least he wasn't all over the place. He was missing high but, for the most part, those pitches were justbarely missing and a bunch of calls (for both sides)
could have gone the other way with a different HP ump. The difference between Saturday's BIG strike zone and CB Bucknor's small one today was, pardon the pun, striking.
And of course that led to the longer innings and the high pitch count and the quick hook and blah, blah, blah.
So, no, he wasn't good, but he at least wasn't awful so that's ... I dunno, something.

I'm not laying this loss on C.B. Bucknor but please alert me when he's the home plate ump in any of our games. I'd be better off just skipping it.

Not as long as Angel Hernandez continues to draw both breath and a paycheck.
