1. I don't think 102 wins is out of reach for this team. McNeil, Alvarez and Manaea will be back soon. A lot of things will need to break right, but it's definitely possible!
2. Lindor!! No slow start this year!!
3. =whippoorwill post_id=189967 time=1745006187 user_id=79] This is one of my favorite threads ever
4. Good quiz!
5. =metirish post_id=189285 time=1744226426 user_id=72] I'm definitely worried about Mark
6. I used to hate the DH with a passion. But I have to say it really hasn't bothered me that much. I like it when Jesse Winker hits triples.
7. Howie said players get paid $10,000 for wearing the mic while on the field, as Lindor did this game. Did not know that!
8. I like the food idea! If you are keeping the pizza for Brooklyn, Queens gets a glorious poppy seed bagel, and Manhattan gets a giant deli sandwich or a pretzel from a street cart, what are you noshing on in the Bronx or Staten Island?

10. I think Clint Hurdle? I think he was here in 1985, went away for the glory year of 1986 and came back the following year?
11. Gotta have Al Jackson, Lee Mazzilli and Jose Reyes on there!
12. It should be an easy decision for Manfred. Making Rose eligible for the Hall of Fame and putting him in the Hall of Fame are of course two different things. I would imagine making him eligible sends him to the writers' ballot, and I suspect they'd let him linger for 10 years like ARod, Manny, Sosa, and the rest. It would be more than a decade before one of the veterans committees even had a chance to consider him.
13. His jail time, if I remember, was tied to not reporting revenue from memorabilia and autograph sales, not connected to his gambling ban. And I think a number of former stars were caught doing that, though I don't know if they went to jail. So I don't see the point.
14. https://sny.tv/articles/mets-sign-jose-urenahttps://sny.tv/articles/mets-sign-jose-urena Doesn't seem like much, But Jeremy Hafner and the pitching lab will make me eat those words!
15. Emergency catcher Tim Spehr!
16. Lefty Specialist wrote: Going with Megill, Blackburn or Canning? Now THAT's betting on luck. This team will hit, but the pitching is going to be ugly. I don't think it will be ugly. Senga, Manaea, and Peterson are all solid. The other two spots are question marks.
17. I'm just glad Pete is back. Would be awkward to present him with his award if he were playing for the Blue Jays. Kind of like RA Dickey and his Cy Young Award.
18. /https://nypost.com/2025/02/17/sports/frankie-montas-shut-down-for-significant-stretch-in-rough-mets-news//https://nypost.com/2025/02/17/sports/frankie-montas-shut-down-for-significant-stretch-in-rough-mets-news/ Not a lot of details in here.
19. Dylan Cease, please!
20. Couldn't hit a lick, but I sure did enjoy watching him field! Three Gold Gloves. Finished fifth in ROY voting in an admittedly weak year. I'd forgotten that he spent time in Tampa Bay and with the Cubs.
21. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71a-rnJkonL._AC_SY445_.jpg> Awesome name - and hit two home runs in one inning, with one being a grand slam.
