  1. I wonder how I will feel watching the games. But right now I’m terrified of McLean getting hurt. I’d be fine with him pitching well in one game then the US getting eliminated before he has to pitch again. you know he'd pitch in Spring Training too. I fear the postgame celebrations. That's where our guys get injured more severely.
  2. I can't even imagine how long this takes to build. Thank you for the effort!
  3. I'm a Big Hall kind of guy. Leave them all in and celebrate their success. Also, it's nice to be able to say nice things about Gary Carter again.
  4. You are absolutely talking circles. I'm all in on making the move if the mods are ready to turn over those reigns. Since this forum can be mothballed and come out of mothballs if people don't like the other place, there's really no risk. And, really, we need to stop taking swipes at Brock. All he did was express interest and make an offer. Edgy and Ben, make the call and I'll support whichever way you decide.
  5. A poll would be about as impactful as a poll asking who the Mets should play in right field. It's not our call. I trust Edgy to make a good decision and will go wherever the forum goes. Thank you to all who keep the lights on.
  6. I had no idea Kenley Jansen was that high up on the all-time list.
  7. Interestingly, three Milwaukee pitchers that were in the 2024 wild card deciding game are now on the Mets. Peralta and Myers were in there before Williams. I think this was a great addition. I've heard people compare him to Trevor Williams, who was a valuable part for a bit. He's long-term controllable and has a minor league option?
  8. For sure. I'm not saying all of those players in a five-for-one deal. But some of them.
  9. Forget about Framber Valdez. He's had to circulate videos telling clubs he's not a bad clubhouse presence. I'm still curious if they are working on a Skubal deal! They could still build a package from a group that includes Baty, Tong, Vientos, Peterson, Senga. Imagine a rotation of Skubal, Peralta, McLean, Manaea, Holmes.
  10. What, did the Dodgers not want Bichette, too?
  11. Use that $60 million for Tarik Skubal next year. Trade for Jarren Duran, who is not Tucker, but can play center. Benge gets his shot in left. Throw some money at Valdez.
  12. He also might not want to live in Canada, which might help us. What's interesting about these dollar amounts being bandied about is that the current Mets leadership does. not. leak. So if these numbers are getting out there, it's not likely the Mets leaking them. If the numbers are coming from Tucker's folks, they might be using the Mets to raise the price for the Jays and Dodgers.
  13. The thing with Lindor and McNeill, in wondering if that's unusual. Would we see teammates getting frustrated with each other after bad plays in most clubhouses?
  14. I don't think Semien has to hit much. If he can provide Gold Glove defense at second and bat eighth, I'm fine with that. One of the podcasts today had someone saying the problem with Nimmo was that his defense was slipping to the point that he was going to be a DH sooner than later on a team where Pete and Sosa are going to be DHs sooner in Pete's case and later in Soto's. Moving that contract and freeing up leftfield means you can have a good centerfielder, but not a glove first guy who has to cover the vast ground between Soto and Nimmo and opens up room for Benge plus someone like Tucker or Bellinger. I love Nimmo and I'm sad to see him go. But I can understand what Sterns is up to.
  15. Jeff Passan is saying the Mets and Rangers are working on a deal that would send Brandon Nimmo to Texas in exchange for Marcus Semien. Nimmo has the full no-trade clause and the eight-year, $162 million contract signed in 2022. Semien was signed for seven years, $175 million in 2021. Seems like an odd deal if it's straight up.
  16. Adam Ottovino rips into Carlos Mendoza. https://nypost.com/2025/11/20/sports/adam-ottavino-goes-off-on-carlos-mendzoas-mets-bullpen-usage/ Comes off sounding kinda bitter. Would mean more coming from someone who did not turn every walk into a double - and gave out a lot of walks.
  17. Just a hunch, but I suspect these two are not the only ones who were doing this. And I would not be surprised if they know if other players, and will start talking to prosecutors.
  18. I think if the Mets offer four years and $150 million it gets done. I hope.
  19. Surprised about Hefner. He'll be snapped up.
  20. Bob Melvin gets the ax. I forgot that the Orioles' managerial spot open as well. Do the Nationals have an interim?
  21. Wow. Not thinking that trainwreck was his fault. Saw posts about Bob Melvin potentially being out at San Fran and Bruce Bochy coming back for a second tour. Supposedly he and Buster are tight.
  22. He walked two batters in a row. I suspect the plan was a bullpen game, but I thought he'd get the chance to get out of it. I trusted him more than Stanek.
  23. I don't think you can lay this at Mendoza's feet. It's not his fault that all the starters and all the good relievers except Diaz went down with injuries -- and that the deadline deals didn't work out. He's trying to play the players he has. Sterns had a rough year. Last year all his moves worked out -- Severino, Winker, Inglesias -- and he looked like a genius. This year practically none of them did.
