  1. Zach Britton getting a call perhaps?
  2. Edgy MD wrote: It seemed to happen in stages. First he seemed stiff coming off the mound and walking toward the catcher. Then, when the first player reaches him for a quick celebratory bump-hug, he's slow to get his right leg behind him to counter the impact, which should be sort of intuitive, and when the leg finally gets back there, he kind of tries to avoid actually planting it solidly. Then, when the scrum starts their minor hopping show, he crumbles seemingly on the first hop. He might have actually done the whole injury on the pitch, and the other things were failed tests. Sigh! Ah well no point in speculating until we know what the lie of the land is. I've had footballers not able to walk off the field and able to play the next week. Here's hoping it's a 4-6 week kinda thing and not ruptured ligament style jobbie.
  3. even with 5 years to come Diaz would have to do very well to catch John Franco @ 276 Nimmo would seem to have a good chance at the walks if he stays the 8 years - and Pete the dingers with an extra 2/3 years.

  5. =MFS62 post_id=113550 time=1669740531 user_id=60] The Baseball America list: 1 Francisco Alvarez C 2 Brett Baty 3B 3 Kevin Parada C 4 Alex Ramirez OF 5 Jett Williams SS 6 Mark Vientos 3B 7 Ronny Mauricio SS 8 Blade Tidwell RHP 9 Calvin Ziegler RHP 10 Matt Allan RHP Allen back in this list. That is the most encouraging news I've heard about Allen. I hope that means they know that he's on his way to recovering from TJ surgery. And, Parada really must impress the evaluators to be ranked so high after just a few games as a pro. Later

Anyhow, I know this must be a difficult time, and just keep in mind that you have someone right here to talk to (or whatever other kind of needs you may have right now). DM me? 1:15 PM · Nov 9, 2022 ·Twitter for iPhone that's pretty icky !
  7. I think it's a fair deal. He probably could have got a higher AAV on a 2 year deal somewhere else but he likes it here, he's got a good thing going and the 5 years with no trade and opt out is hard to beat. From the mets point of view he's worth it for the next 2-3 years and sure who knows WTF the world will look like at 2025
  8. I'm only voting for 1 unless I'm really conflicted and the Mr Metrics is so borderline deranged that I couldn't but vote for it.
  9. tough to do put picked the Astros. Though I did catch Harper's homer last night live and it was a pretty dandy moment.
  10. the mets should be prepared to be outbid depending on what the other bids are! what do I think sounds reasonable... I dunno 4*40 ? Seems like a hell of a lot for a guy who you have to worry about keeping healthy.
  11. I'm hoping for a Padres - Guardians world series at this point. Was hoping Mariners would get through but that ship has sailed (boom boom)
  12. =Gwreck post_id=109732 time=1664770522 user_id=56] . The good news is that between the New York TV market and a west coast opponent, the Mets are unlikely to get one of the crappy afternoon slots.
  13. Vientos clearly. Unless something else has gone wonky.
  14. before we get too excited - lets not forget that Omir is just about 10 months younger then Juan Soto and he's only at single A.
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: That's a Spencer Strider game for the Braves The Voit dubble was the only hit he allowed but he also walked three and threw a ton of pitches. FWIW braves now up 7-2 and pretty much home and hosed for the W
  16. 2 outa 2 important here...
  17. sounds like the perfect time for a 2-6 swoon.
  18. I'm only seeing this on gameday but it would seem to me that two balls went to Baty and neither resulted in outs. He to blame ?
  19. =Fman99 post_id=104516 time=1660865514 user_id=86] I assume they're just better at evading PED testing. I mean, what other explanation is there?
  20. In fairness that's pretty funny
  21. supposedly defense. Baty might be more defensible in that he can't play 2nd/SS which Guillorme did but to my mind Esco Go Go becomes the utility dude if Lindor needs a day off. Alvarez I just don't get - even if all he did was get a few at bats and work on the side/in the bullpen with the pitchers he'd benefit from it you'd think...
  22. Where are we on the Brett Baty/Alvarez being used here.
  23. also don't forget that bould Thomas Szapucki is no longer on our 40man roster
  24. well we make mental mistakes when we're tired - he hasn't had to do what he did for over a year. Concentration takes stamina - it's no surprise that he started to get perfect.
  25. I think in relation to Contreras there's a clear “We're not sure he's that much of an improvement… maybe we can bring up Alvarez on Sept 1 and if he hits the ball leave McCann or Nido off the playoff roster … “ DH they improved - kind of a mad way to to it, but hey if it works it works and neither guy cost so much. Lefty reliever is the first noodle scatcher to me. It's such a gaping hole that you'd have to try and find some kind of patch. The other is Matt Vientos. If you aren't prepared to see if he's good enough to contribute at DH now then why not trade him. You've just acquired two guys for that role who're under control for a couple of years. Maybe nobody else values him at all but it strucke that he looked like a very expendable part …
