  1. Funny thing is I haven't given up yet.
  2. I want to live in Edgy's world.

  4. The best Yaz duo since Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke.
  5. Tying Ralph Kiner on that list would be doable, and a nice movement of 14 slots up the list.
  6. We're all gonna laugh about this thread when the Mets clinch a Wild Card spot and go deep into the postseason.
  7. 53 homers for Alonso and all Yankees fans can be seated.

  9. My daughter and I went the Red Sox/Royals game on August 7 before a torrential downpour forced us to leave in the 10th inning. Today, with neither of us present, the game was completed in 12 minutes.
  10. Oh gods of baseball, please let Alonso break Judge's record.

When & how did he become a Yankees fan? Or was he wolf in sheep's clothing the whole time? I didn't think he was a Yankees fan, I think that's just the job he got. Is that right? Yup. He wanted to be a sportswriter and that's where MLB.com assigned him. Don't know if they intentionally gave him the Yanx Because they weren't his childhood favorite, but that's what I'd do if I were them. Last thing you'd want on your staff as a rookie writer is some goggle-eyed fan-boi looking to be the team's unofficial pr agent.

  14. =Ceetar post_id=18031 time=1565201626 user_id=102] I mean, I don't love the design but they should do more of this.
  15. The Mets should just wear the Mercury Mets uniforms again.
  16. Taking my kids and mom to the August 24th game. It's players weekend and fireworks night, so it should be fun. I've seen the Mets on the road several times but haven't been to Citi Field since 2016.
  17. Yeah, none of the names are particularly good. Comiskey's name should've stuck with the old ballpark.
  18. I hope this means that the South Side ballpark will be renamed before the Mets return in the future. Perhaps a name with some dignity.
  19. He had a good game in the Little League Classic. Now he gets to pitch in Pennsylvania more often.
  20. As they say in the stock market, sell high. I approve trading away Vargas.
  21. I didn't know this until I looked it up, but Lourdes Gurriel Jr. also has a baseball pedigree, although Senior didn't play in MLB. Lourdes Gourriel (spelled slightly different than his MLB children) played for the Cuban National Team and won a gold medal at the 1992 Olympics and numerous gold medals in other baseball tournaments.
  22. Welcome Marcus Stroman! I like him from what I know about him. Hope he gets a chance to flourish in New York. Will feel a lot lest positive if Syndergaard is traded, though. Maybe by bolstering the rotation they can move someone to the pen and make it stronger too, although I don't know who that would be.
  23. Honestly, I assume that all MLB players, staff, owners, and retirees are Trump supporters unless I hear otherwise.
  24. I'm going to listen to the July 9, 1969 Mets vs. Cubs game today.
