i enjoyed BRIDE, but TAP created a comedic sub-genre. So, for me, when its a close call, i go with the film that had a more significant impact on the culture.
the project has already had 4 screenwriters, and the director is a music video guy who did the CHARLIES ANGELS movies, so i have little hope that this will be more than a turd. the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES tv series, however, is quite good.
no, once BLADE RUNNER and ROAD WARRIOR went down, my gaskets were pretty much shot. This would be a minor annoyance. Frankly, i'm more irritated by the lack of respect currently being shown for TERMINATOR.
TERMINATOR is a brilliant movie; NAKED GUN is an annoying movie with some laughs. But it looks like this is going the way of BLADE RUNNER and ROAD WARRIOR. I think folks here have a predisposition against violent SF films in favor of moronic comedies.

But Spinal Tap is iconic, while Arthur doesn't stand the test of time. not only doesn't it stand the test of time, i can't stand it's time in this test. it beat ROAD WARRIOR, for crissakes! Let this be its final stand... this far and no further!
good haunted house movie v defining 80s touchstone... easy choice for me, too. John Hughes filmography thread: http://cranepoolforum.qwknetllc.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=5340
