    i had Taillon stashed on my fantasy team roster since the start of the season, so of course he's making his major league debut against the Mets! Oh well, at least i know he'll put up some good numbers. Cold comfort for the sweep we're about to endure, I know, but it's what i got.

    CF is, as almost always, correct. Hererra has done nothing but hit at every level. A guy that has an average of .300/15hr-20hr/20-25sb/90-100r over the course of nearly 2200 minor league plate appearances (with even better numbers at AAA). Yeah, that's somebody for whom you say to that nice Walker fellow, signed only thru the end of this season, "hey Neil, would you please move over here to 3b for a while? I'm sure reminding everybody you can handle that position, the way you did a few years ago with the Pirates, will not only help the team but increase your market value when you become a FA this year." And Neil being the intelligent gentleman he is, would likely say, "of course, sir!" and skidaddle on over across the diamond. What i do know is that Loney ain't worth shit anymore, if he ever was, and giving him ABs is like flushing them down a port-o-potty.

It would also give us another option for the top of the order, where Grandy is hurting us on a daily basis.

    i agree with Darling. Syndy did absolutely nothing wrong with a pitch that basically said "I have pretty damn good control, but i'm gonna through this 3 feet behind you just to show i could have thrown at you, and i SHOULD throw at you, but i won't, so lets all move on now". But the asshat ump overreacted and what should have been a warning got our starter tossed. So now resentments continue to build and i won't be surprised if there is an Utley-related brawl at some point, thanks to this ump's stupid and unnecessary intervention which has INCREASED the possibility of injury, rather than letting the situation be resolved by the players on the field.

    60g / 60ip / 70k / 1.95 era /1.20 whip He battles sporadic wildness to become one of our most reliable arms in the pen. No more than 4th in line for saves at this point, but if Familia gets hurt, and Reed and Bastardo prove inconsistent and worrisome, he could end up with some saves. He has closer stuff.

    i liked it overall, particularly Affleck as Batman! which was a nice surprise. I still like Henry Cavill as Superman, and Wonder Woman was perfection. However, Jesse Eisenberg was just a terrible idea from the start and he buries the movie every time he's on screen. The movie also tries to do too much, telling parallel storylines, while also trying to set up the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. DC tried to do in 1 movie what Marvel was able to do with all their movies leading up to AVENGERS, and it just doesn't work. The DOOMSDAY villain comes out of absolutely nowhere and makes even less sense than everything else. So this movie isn't exactly a masterclass in storytelling. But Snyder's got style (if nothing else) and a real feel for visually adapting comic book characters to the big screen and, unlike MAN OF STEEL, the fight scenes work well. Sure, it's got some wince-inducing moments, and i can see why the critics savaged it, but i like Snyder movies and i liked this one. Alot of other folks don't, and didn't.
