  1. One day after being reinstated from the 60 day IL due to a broken foot, Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies had to leave tonight's game against the Phillies with a broken right pinkie finger.
  2. The Pirate pitchers just keep handing out free passes.
  3. I think Mets got the best that Baez could offer at the end of last season. Even at his best, Baez's lack of discipline at the plate while swinging for the fences clearly illustrated he was an all or nothing proposition as a hitter. The Tigers paid the big money (thankfully the Mets passed) and are receiving his usual undisciplined approach.
  4. Nice to get the win, but the squandered opportunities the last 3 innings mde this one much more exciting than it should have been.
  5. Gore is an old school throw back type player. Now special running mitts. Feet first slide (pop up no less). Allen, modern school. Oven mitt sliding gloves. Headfirst slide, which allowed him to be blocked off the base by Guillorme. There's no school, like old school.
  6. It came down pretty far away from him.
  7. Mets tack on a run with help from the Pirates defense (or lack there of). Still, they squandered an opportunity to blow this game open with a hit.
  8. Long run for NImmo to corral that pop up. I was afraid he and Guillorme were headed for a collision.
  9. Really needed a hit there to blow this one open.
  10. No pitcher can win a game if he team fails to score. The all or nothing nature of the offense of late is really becoming quite worrisome.
  11. Willets Point wrote: Nimmo can't jump high enough to avoid getting stung by McNeil's hit. Didn't the booth mention in a recent game that Nimmo was a high jumper in high school?
  12. Well, that wasn't quite what I had in mind. Two walks and a single, yet the Mets still come away empty.
  13. The offense needs to give Jake some run support.
  14. Florida Complex League season was completed on 8/28/22. Jett played 10 games (8 at SS & 2 as DH) after signing.
  15. Vientos has a tough MLB debut at the plate. You are not in Syracuse anymore. Better luck next time young man.
  16. Seattle takes 2 of 3 from Atlanta to help the Mets cause.
  17. The Mets appear to shot their load making a statement against the Dodgers. The offense apparently wore itself out in that series and has nothing left for the "weaker" teams. The A' are putting up more a fight on the Mets behalf than are the Mets. The Braves lead 6-5 going to the home half (A's) of the 4th.
  18. The offense really struggled and failed to score against a pitching staff that has been roughed up most of the year. If Scherzer's ailment to his left side turns out to be significant then I am worried about the pitching as well. While the Mets lost this series against the last place Nationals, the Braves are currently putting the finishing touches on a 3 game sweep of the Marlins. The Braves lead 4-0 going into the 8th.
  19. I guess I should thankful that I am blacked out by MLB for Nationals games.
  20. Why does it seem that whenever DeGrom or Scherzer takes the mound, the offense seems to basically take the night off? Medina was apparently throwing batting practice. Why is Buck using the unproven AAA relievers instead of getting an inning or two from Trevor Williams? The only thing i can think of is he doesn't expect Carrasco to go very deep in tomorrows game so he was saving Williams to back him up tomorrow.
  21. Hopefully, the Mets will give Max five or six runs to work with so the team can enjoy a less stressful game.
  22. My MLB account blocks me for all Washington & Orioles games, so I live vicariously through the in game threads. At least this is preferable than when I was always blocked from Atlanta games until MLB inexplicably switched to Washington and Baltimore black outs.
  23. I pick them to win 19 of the final 30 games. I think they are saving themselves to turn it on in the palyoffs.
  24. What an awesome, well played game by both teams. Had the intensity of a playoff game.
  25. Whew. After fighting off several nasty 2 strike pitches, Betts strikes out chasing a slider that ended up a good 6 inches outside.
