The Mets offense has picked a horrible time to play dead.
  2. The Hot Corner
And Maton strikes out swinging. Stupid Phillies. Braves win.
  3. The Hot Corner
Realmuto singles to driv in the "silly" runner. Phillies still down a run with 2 outs. Since they pinch ran for Schwarber, the game falls on the shoulders of Nick Maton.
  4. The Hot Corner
Lugo struggled, but he eventually closed out the 9th. The Mets really needed a laugher. Now if the Phillies can miraculously get it done in the bottom of the 11th.

Waldichuck is inexperienced and has been shelled regularly in his 4 previous career starts. This is no time for the Mets bats to go silent and make Waldichuk look like the second coming of Randy Johnson. They need to poor it on and knock him out of the game early as in all of his previous starts. I forgot to take into account that DeGrom is indeed human. Though it started nicely, this game definitely go as I anticipated.

Went to sleep knowing the Mets won in a rout and the had Braves lost. Peaceful sleep and sweet dreams. Enjoyed watching the condensed game recap with breakfast and my morning coffee.
  8. The Hot Corner
The Mets are taking care of business. Very good win!
  9. The Hot Corner
Buck's experience, awareness (of situations/rules), and preparedness has played a vital role in guiding this team through this season. I think he ha done an excellent job of managing the team. I don't believe the Mets would be in this position if the managerial change had not been made at the end of last season.
  10. The Hot Corner
Alonzo crushes one. 3-0 for the good guys.
  11. The Hot Corner
Both Scherzer and Burnes are on their game. Both lineups are pretty overmatched by the starters thus far tonight. A classic pitching duel thus far.
  12. The Hot Corner
There he is. Handsome as ever.
  13. The Hot Corner
I believe the Mets will need to have their second greatest win total in franchise history if they are to hold off the Braves and win the NL East.
  14. The Hot Corner
Where is the old man with the brooms? I love that guy.
  15. The Hot Corner
Oh, yay! Bases loaded for the Mets. I would settle for a deep fly ball from Vogelbach at this point. Whoops, posted in the wrong thread. Meant this for the IGT. Luckily, Vogelbach came through with the base hit to drive in 2.
  16. The Hot Corner
    Hey Phillies, thanks for nothing.
  17. The Hot Corner
    Finally a hit with RISP.
  18. The Hot Corner
Gore, however, seems to have mastered his specialty
  19. The Hot Corner
Gore is a specialist with a very difficult job. To steal a base when virtually everyone in the ballpark expects him to be running.
  20. The Hot Corner
If the Pirates starter hadn't walked the Mets in bunches, the Mets would probably be trailing right now. This team needs to start hitting, particualrly with RISP.
  21. The Hot Corner
Damn, the Mets give deGrom a modicum of run support, but they multiple opportunities to blow the game open and their failure again comes back to haunt them.
  22. The Hot Corner
=kcmets post_id=107788 time=1663528887 user_id=53] I'll ask now, because I'll forget to in the morning; what the hell was up with the two Canha K's (rung up caught looking at pitches) 6-7-8 inches off the dish?
  23. The Hot Corner
Bases loaded walk for McNeil makes it 2-0 Mets. Time for Pete to bust this game open.
  24. The Hot Corner
Bases loaded yet again. Time for someone to actually deliver a hit. Lindor Ks. Mets now 0 for their last 17 with bases loaded. I guess we need to hope for a walk or wild pitch.
  25. The Hot Corner
The Phillies scored one in the top of the 8th and now trail the Braves 4-3 in Atlanta.
