1. Vogelbach looks like he should be playing in Rec-League softball, but he has a good eye at the plate and he can certainly hit right handed pitchers.
2. I think Buck knows what he is doing. He certainly knows a lot more than I do.
3. I will go with Lugo, Smith, May, Peterson, Megill, & Williams.
4. RIP Vin Scully. He was simply the best at his craft.
5. =kcmets post_id=102008 time=1659484804 user_id=53] What happened to the half-naked woman behind home plate?
6. The trade I really wanted was to take Contreras off the Cubs hab=nds. He would have been a significant upgrade at catcher or as a righthanded DH on other days. I had seen last reports that the Cubs wanted top notch prospects (Mauricio and some pitching prospects) as well as MLB ready players J.D.Davis or David Peterson for Contreras. Would have been a significant upgrade, but the Mets (and everybody else) apparently found the Cubs asking price a little too steep for a short-term rental.
7. The Nats and Orioles are my blacked out markets. So even with deGrom's return being the MLB.com Free Game of the Day, I can't see it since I'm still blacked out.
8. Lost his spot due to his failure to consistently hit the past 2 years.
9. Thus far Diehl's career numbers do not make me see him as the answer to the Mets need for a quality lefty reliever. Naquin is having an off year at the plate. At least the Mets didn't have to give up a great deal (at least for the foreseeable future) in this trade.
10. I voted for 15.1 - 30 innings. When I saw the title the number that popped in my head was 18 innings. I think he will get in 3-4 starts, before going on the shelf again for some ailment. I don't doubt deGrom's ability at all, but I seriously question his durability.
11. Mets win & Yankees lose. All is right with my world.
12. I believe COVID-19 allowed all NCAA athletes an extra year of eligibility.
13. He already has some great walk up music just made for him when he reaches the show. Damn, I never can remember how to post youtube videos. Anyway, the opening of "Jet" by Paul McCartney & Wings would be a great walk up for Jett Williams.
14. JD comes through with a wounded duck of a flare to shallow RF. Now it goes to Nido with the tying run on 3rd.
15. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: And its a fly ball to the warning track for Cahna, and now, it's the king of warning track flies, Escobar. Who's also the Prince of "strikeouts when you need a hit." . There it is. All too familiar an occurrence.
16. That fly ball by Cahna to the edge of the LF warning track was the most excitement the Mets has provided thus far tonight. Come on Escobar.
17. Well, it's do or die time for the Mets. Alonso, Cahna, and Escobar against the Padres lefty closer.
18. Morejon was bringing some gas (consistent 98-99) out of the Padres pen. Didn't look to be throwing that hard, but he blowing it by the Mets hitters.
19. Bassitt get the strike out to end the inning. The defense made him have to work overtime that inning.
20. Ground out by Grisham for the second out (should be out of the inning). Runners at 2nd and 3rd. Big hitter for Bassitt.
21. Poor decision not to get the sure out at first on that ground ball by Alfaro.
22. The Braves on the other hand seemed to hitting on all cylinders right now.
23. The Mets offense just doesn't give the pitchers much room for error.
