  1. Lots of action on strike outs in the past inning.
  2. McNeil with a great catch to end the inning and turn away the Phillies.
  3. Nogosek getting no help from his defense this inning.
  4. Nicely executed double steal by Lindor and Marte. Speed kills.
  5. Those were the days.
  6. Four consecutive Braves 4 hard line drives off of DeGrom. Luckily 2 of them were to Mets fielders or it could have gotten real ugly. As it is, the Braves score 2 runs.
  7. Damn, Dansby Swanson instead hit a rocket into the gap to plate Grossman. Swanson seems to be DeGroms kryptonite.
  8. When Acuna hit that ball it looked and sounded like a HR or extrabase hit. Glad it was just a line drive to Cahna.
  9. Acuna rips a slider to the warning track, but it ends up in Marte's glove.
  10. Big strike out for the second out, but now Acuna comes up as the Braves last hope.
  11. May is about to give me n ulcer.
  12. Diaz made us sweat it out, but ultimately gets the job done.
  13. Nimmo is really in a funk at the plate. Not barreling up any pitches. Hopefully, Diaz is his usual lights out.
  14. Poor bunt by Nido leads to a double play.
  15. May is the third man to the mound for the Mets, but the result is still the same. They just keep putting up goose eggs. An addition run for Diaz to work with would be nice.
  16. Buck passing the baton on to May for the 8th inning.
  17. Lugo looking sharp and continues the shut out. Time for some insurance runs.
  18. The Phillies have to be feeling better about their chances now that DeGrom is out of the game.
  19. Jake is definitely doing his part. Now the offense needs to get him more runs.
  20. Nice to reacquire Jankowski. He is a solid defender and a valuable assett as a pinch runner for people such as Vogelbach, Alonso, Nido, McCann, Ruf, or Guillorme.
  21. McNeil has always reminded me of an old school, country hardball type player. I'm not surprised a few stitches in a finger can't stop him.
  22. Lefty Specialist wrote: I believe Bassitt, Walker and Carrasco have one more year of team control after 2022, Scherzer two more. Jake is a wild card, as he'll opt out and he'll be looking for Scherzer+ money. It's an elderly pitching rotation, though. They may be elderly, but they are highly effective. I would be happy with the same rotation next season, particularly with Megill and Peterson as back ups for redundancy/bullpen help. As for Syndergaard, there is no room for him on the Mets staff. At best, he would have to compete with Megill and Peterson for 6th man/bullpen/trade bait status. He is welcome to sign wherever he wishes, but I don't want it to be for a return to the Mets.
  23. Mets need to give deGrom a few runs of support, which won't be easy against Nola, and the should get the win. They can't squander another strong pitching performance (like Scherzer and the pen gave them last night).
