  1. The A's pitchers really have some serious wildness problems.
  2. Yacabonis escapes the 9th unscathed with some major assistance from Nimmo. Alvarez gets Escobar over to third with one out. Would be fitting if Nimmo drives in the go ahead run.
  3. =ashie62 post_id=122564 time=1681686093 user_id=90]No Edwin Diaz
  4. And that is why Baty is getting the call. Baty has been hot and deserves a shot, but Escobar has done nothing at the plate to show he should remain the man at third base.
  5. 3 consecutive walks to load the bases following the Alonso blast. That' it for the A's closer, Jimenez. Ecobar to face the lefty Moll with the bases juiced. I would love a hit, but I would settle for a deep sac fly.
  6. Chance for McNeil to find his strike and put the Mets on top.
  7. The Lacastro moment as he pinch runs for Cahna as the go ahead run and easily steals second to get into scoring position.
  8. Lindor smoked that ball, but a nice diving play by the A's @B (Diaz) robs him Pete has his back with a monster blast to center. Game tied t 3.
  9. It's up to the heart of the order to bring some 9th inning magic.
  10. Escobar hasn't hit his weight this year, but his defense remains solid. Nice play on a contact play with the infield in to cut down the potential tying run at the plate. At the end of 6, it is still 2-1 Mets.
  11. Lindor KABOOM! to put the Mets back in front.
  12. Ottavino with a stressful, but successful 8th inning.
  13. Wow, Hogan Harris just had about as bad MLB debut as possible. His MLB dream just turned into a nightmare.
  14. I thought about Satchel Paige (and Bob Feller), but opted to go with pitcher I can recall witnessing their greatness. I have read several books on Satchel Paige (and the Negro Leagues) and I have no doubt h was truly one of the greatest to ever take the mound.
  15. I like Keith's remark as Nido's swinging "bunt" died on the chalk of the third base line. Keith, "It wanted to go foul, it just ran out of steam."
  16. Max puts up nice 1-2-3 inning after the Mets stake him to a lead.
  17. Edgy ascribing to the saying "you can't win them all". However, 80% will get you a championship.
  18. Only going with pitchers I actually watched. I will go with Seaver, Gibson, Carlton, Maddox, and Ryan. I really wanted to put Koufax on the list, but I was a little too young to actually remember him pitching.
  19. I remember McCarver from his his national broadcasting stints as being one of the most knowledgeable and insightful announcers. He covered the game and educated the listeners without trying to make himself the focal point. He was truly one of the best. May he rest in peace.
  20. I think the are good for 96 wins this year. The most important thing is to get hot in the post season.
  21. Yay!
  22. That home run was a great moment. Thanks for the memory and bet of luck in the future.
  23. For me, I have pretty much reached that point. He may have been a very talented prospect, but he has had the misfortune of suffering three elbow injuries (surgeries0. By the time he is likely recuperated and ready to begin throwing again, he will have been essentially out of commission for 4-5 years. He may still be young, turns 22 in April, but his elbow is much older. I would be very surprised to see him ever don a Mets uniform at the major league level.
  24. Glad to see the Mets Extend McNeil. My first reaction to 4 years/$50 mil. was "damn that seems pretty cheap. There is a team option of $13.75 mil for 2027 season.
  25. I would take my shot with Duvll and second choice Mancini.
