  1. ]Michael Kaye was on the radio complaining that MFY-fan sugreons scheduled to perform open-heart surgery at 8 tommorrow morning may kill people as a result. Please don't make me start ranting on "He Who Shall Not Be Named." He can go suck it. I wouldn't want to be operated on by anyone who was a MFY fan to begin with, and now this prick is getting all juiced because his beloved freaking Yankees don't have the prime time slot? Go to hell, Mikey. Believe it or not, there are other freaking teams in the major leagues, and HEY! Guess what! The Angels have fans too! And they work during the day! And the game's in their freaking ballpark, so you have to do what's best for them also? And why is the game in their ballpark? Because your beloved MFYs couldn't win enough games to get the game in their ballpark! Hey, Mike! Have fun watching Al Leiter walk the ballpark in a big spot this weekend, and have fun watching Aaron Small turn into Ed Whitson at the first sign of stress. Then I'm sure you'll all start bitching at Joe Torre for using a rookie in a big spot! Hey, Mike! Guess what? Your team isn't that good this year! Yes, you won the division, and that's a wonderful accomplishment! You beat a team with zero reliable arms, the East Coast Steroid All-Stars, a team whose second-best offensive player is Shea Hillenbrand, and the Devil Rays! Congratulations! Hey, Mike! STFU! And take Sterling and Susan with you! Sorry. I got started.
  2. Matt Lindstrom needs to learn how to throw a strike once in a while.
  3. Welcome, Honky. I think Mientkiewicz is as good as gone; I don't know whose fiancee he boinked, but he was the forgotten man when he came back from that injury. And I would rather see Tim Teufel at second base than Miguel Cairo anywhere near Shea Stadium in '06.
  4. Note to Cooby's colleagues: stop leaving books around, because Cooby's a bit of a klepto.
  5. metsmarathon wrote: of course, then, what must boost the mets' offense? That would be the 350 plate appearances they gave to Miguel Cairo.
  6. I enjoyed the Neyer/James book. I like how they included a Sidd Finch report.
  7. Zvon, please take a seat on the other side of the room, next to Martin.
  8. In case he wants to see his on-base percentage.
  9. 1) Fine, but not for Beltran. 2) Blah. 3) Molina, yes. Hernandez, no. 4) I like Washburn, but I'd rather spend his money elsewhere. 5) Loved Oly in 1999. Don't love him now. 6) No. No way he performs as well next year as he did this year. 7) I'll take Marlon & Woody, but I still just don't know what to think of Matsui.
  10. I'm Mild Padres here, partially for the underdog factor, and partially because I'm still bitter over 1985 & 1987.
  11. Martin... the tribe has spoken. (Leave the big TV here when you go.)
  12. Mild White Sox. I'm done with the Red Sox.
  13. Mild for Astros here too. Love the Killer B's, hate the Ex-Yanks. Because there are three of one and two of the other, that's my vote.
  14. I want the Padres to win. That would be wicked funny.
  15. Nobody was honestly comparing AH to the Say Hey Kid. I think it was just an observation.
  16. I thought the same thing, ABNS... but I could see Piazza being friends with Stapp also, meeting in Eddie Trunk's studio or something.
  17. Which means this kid is going to be about seven ABs better than Willie Mays. That's pretty impressive.
  18. Jacobs 2 Diaz 2 Floyd 2 Piazza 1 Takatsu 1 A Hernandez 1 Zambrano 1
  19. Bingo! Dribbler between first and second and AH ends the season 1 for 18.
  20. Hey! It's HoJo, coaching first base and wearing #52!
  21. Horribly wrong. What an anticlimax, after all that. Jeez. Get the guy one more freaking AB.
  22. That was a nice tribute. Give him one more AB... and come on, Rockies... throw him a couple of BP fastballs, see how far he can hit it. Just for old times' sake.
  23. And no sooner do I hit "submit" than Helton puts one into the Rockies bullpen. Sigh.
  24. Well, at least Danny Graves is in the game now, in to face the hottest hitter in the NL in the second half. I guess Willie's not so much on the winning today.
  25. I hate losing the last game of the year. Come on, fellas.
