  1. Seawolf here, along with Zvon and SteveRogers here in the standard three-man booth for the IGT.
  2. Jose, JoseJoseJose bunts his way on and immediately steals his 51st base. Watch out, Roger. edit: I put "Mookie" instead of Roger. My bad.
  3. Now THIS is the Chris Woodward we've been waiting for for five months as he makes a nice twisting over the shoulder catch in short right field to end the top of the second. WR: "Well, Chris, we'll let you play one more, but Jose's starting tomorrow." CW: "Oh yeah? Watch this."
  4. No DiFelice. Oliver and Berto take the last two spots right now. LoDuca, Delgado, Valentin, Reyes, Wright Beltran, Green, Chavez, Franco, Woodward Tucker, Ledee, Castro, Milledge Trax, Glavine, Pedro, Duque, Maine Wagner, Heilman, Feliciano, Bradford, Oliver, Hernandez If Floyd comes back, he displaces one of the outfielders (Ledee?).

  6. Ooh! I love Bump Day! It's like rediscovering old friends.
  7. Julio Franco made his major league debut on April 23, 1982, singling in his first at-bat, against Bob Forsch. I was barely six years old... I went to my first major league game that summer. I'm 30 now, I have a six-month-old (six months old today!), and not only is he still playing, but he's still productive. It really is astonishing.
  8. I love "Sweet Caroline," but it has no business being played over the PA at Shea Stadium. Leave it in Fenway, and bring back the Curly Shuffle permanently.
  9. KC wrote: I was hoping for another black player to replace Cliff ... sheesh It's just because Omar is mindlessly pandering to the white Jewish population of New York.
  10. They go in order of appearance in a game, I believe, and if the game's at home (meaning everyone's in the field at the same time), it goes in AB order. My vote is Schmoll, I guess. I think we'll see Perez sooner than September.

  12. Delgado 4 Beltran 2 LoDuca 1 Bradford 2 Heilman 0.5 Mota 0.5
  13. All six of us got the same cards too. Very odd, considering a Carter card was the image they used to promote the giveaway!
  14. Gwreck wrote: Just in case you were wondering, Yom Kippur falls on the Monday between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. Actually, I was. My computer was off during the game last night when they made the announcement, but I was going to look it up this morning. I don't see how this hurts us. I would have figured him to displace Ledee (and he still might, because they need room on the 25-man, not just the 40), but Diaz was a waste anyway.
  15. Willie McGee is the ugliest man in major league history. I know he has nothing to do with the 2006 Cardijnals, but it was the first thing I thought of.
  16. metirish wrote: I'll go with my kid...Ambiorix Concepcion I just called him up in my Out Of The Park computer baseball league... I would hate to see him go.
  17. It chafes me to say this, but congrats to the MFYs on another freaking division title.
  18. Victor Diaz?
  19. Brian Bannister Day is in Brooklyn on Sept 6, a bobblehead day.
  20. Gotta love that Joe Table is still earning a major-league paycheck.
  21. Good times last night... stopped in to visit Kase, SK, and D-Dad, and Steve Rogers came by and said hello. The rain was a little tedious during the ceremony, but it cleared up. Pathetic that it took me until mid-August to get to Shea this year.

When they introduced Randy Niemann, you could very vaguely hear everyone's collective "he was on the roster?" thought.
  23. ScarletKnight41 wrote: How about The Curly Shuffle? Yes!
  24. And A-Rod gets the first vaguely clutch hit of his major league career, driving in a run to make it 6-3.
  25. GameCast currently pictures Craig Wilson, in a Pirates hat, facing Jason Johnson, in an Indians hat. Way to go, World Sports Leader.
