They should plant super-fast-growing grass in the lot so we can re-enact the 1986 division championship celebration over and over and over.
  2. I bought mine on the phone the morning they went on sale... I remember sitting at my desk. And we wound up in Section 46 of the upper reserved, Row V. You could not get any farther from home plate than we were, unless you were in Section 48.
  3. I was just kidding. It's all good.
  4. ="Edgy DC"]Mets to hate: Kurt Abbott, Jack Aker, Sandy Alomar, Bob Aspromonte, Jim Beauchamp, Juan Berenguer, Terry Blocker, Bobby Bonilla, Darren Bragg, Rico Brogna, Brett Butler, Paul Byrd, Buzz Capra, Don Cardwell, Tony Castillo, Rick Cerone, Bruce Chen, Brad Clontz, Carlos Diaz, Jorge Fabregas, Pete Falcone, Leo Foster, Julio Franco, Matt Franco, Danny Frisella, Dave Gallagher, Gary Gentry, Bernard Gilkey, Tom Glavine, Mike Hampton, Tom Hausman, Danny Heep, Ken Henderson, Ron Herbel, Roberto Hernandez, John Hudek, Bob Johnson, The Other Bob Johnson, Mike Jorgensen, Kevin Lomon, Eli Marrero, Mike Marshall, Tom Martin, Greg McMichael, Felix Millan, Willie Montanez, C. Grrrr... Kevin Lomon. I'm stil steamed at that little two-faced shit. Well, some of them, anyway...
  5. What did Michael Tucker ever do as a Brave to us? I didn't even know he was a Brave. Ms. Wolf asked who he was the other night, and I said he played for the Royals.
  6. Reyes 2 LoDuca 0.5 Beltran 1 Delgado 1 Wright 1 Woodward 1.5 Heilman 1 Wagner 1 Feliciano 0.5 Bradford 0.5
  7. Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE not compare Jose Reyes to Juan Samuel, Ruiner Of Franchises?

  9. Edgy DC wrote: Well, the Mets continue, and the Beatles are done, so a shrine of sorts is appropriate. The new Mets continue as a living monument to the old Mets. Yeah, I meant MC 900-Fooot Jesus. Duh. Loved that "If I Only Had A Brain" song.
  10. It's doofy, but I loved it when Pete Harnisch became a Met. He grew up a quick five-minute bike ride from my house. I never met him (he's got a lot of years on me), but that hometown thing meant a lot to me as a kid. It's the same kind of reason I love Jim Rice; we share a birthday.
  11. Yancy Street Gang wrote: I'd prefer to go into the playoffs with Floyd than without him. I'm not saying I don't want Floyd in the lineup, but I'm saying I'd rather have a healthy Chavez in the lineup than a limping, ineffective Floyd.
  12. Yancy Street Gang wrote: Who would we rather have on the playoff roster? Ledee or Milledge? Milledge. I don't think Ledee gives you anything that you don't already have with Michael Tucker, and I'd rather Tucker than Ledee.
  13. For some reason, I don't think we'll see Floyd back this year. And I'm okay with that; I like Endy Chavez in the eight-spot.
  14. [quote="Johnny Dickshot"]That said, the cool website Minorleaguesplits.com reports the following tidbitz: He's held opponents to a .239 batting average against and is whiffing 8 guys an inning. Of 271 batted balls against him, 150 have been grounders, 64 have been fly balls, 15 have been pop-ups (nice ratio, must be working that heavy sinker), 37 have been line drives, and 5 have been bunt attempts. Who counts this stuff up?
  15. Yancy Street Gang wrote: ="Edgy DC"]And it's not about the pope. The Mets are bigger than Jesus. I agree with that, too. Jesus Alou? Ivan DeJesus? Definitely. I don't even think there's a discussion there.
  16. Willets Point wrote: 10-6 was the score of the Mets-Cards NLCS game I attended in 2000. This is a good omen. Or just a stupid coincidence. I'm going with coincidence too, but only because it's coincidence that the only major league playoff game I've ever been to is that one also. Oh... and here comes Bradford vs Pujols, Redux.

They were really very cool; I did a neat interview with "Ringo" on my college radio show before their concert and everything. Good to see they're still doing their thing. Scratch that, it was the "John" guy, Mark. Good dude. And Chris Woodward alllllmost makes a pretty diving catch in foul territory after Bert gets a quick LD5-3 DP.

FINE, so I shall let you know about another pop-culture icon from the 60's Met fans tonight are being entertained by Beatle tribute band 1964 I met the guys from "1964" when I booked them in my old college activities board days. 20. Hip Hop Hooraaaaaaaaaaayyy, hoooooo, haaaaaaaaaaaaaayy, hooooooo... 10-2 Good Guys on the Milledge RBI single.
  21. Delgado's starting to hit, finally... and that is good, good, good. Beltran to third on the long double to left and here comes Mr. Wright.
  22. OOOH... they have Bloomberg in the booth, and they just showed a neat computer animation of the new Bob Murphy Stadium... looks very cool.
  23. Jose, JoseJoseJose... HOME RUN hitter!
  24. Boy, it's just astounding how this guy will make you pay every single time. 4-2 Good Guys.
  25. That it is, Z, as Trax walks the bases full for Pujols. And you hate to see that happen.
