  1. According to today's Newsday, it's $14.5 million on the team option, $7 (or $8, I don't recall) million on the player option. The buyout is $3 million. So worst case, he gets only $3 million from the Mets.
  2. Thank you, Mets! This season is one I'll remember for a million reasons, both on and off the field. Thanks, and we'll be ready for '07.
  3. I think Vic means Carlos Lee, formerly of the Brewers, most recently of the Rangers. (Cliff Lee is the pitcher for the Indians.) I'd be interested. FWIW, I'd invite Endy back as the lefty half of the Chavez/Milledge Spare Outfielder Roster Spot, but I wouldn't be horrified if he got 300-400 ABs next year.
  4. Do we have Bradford signed for next year?
  5. HahnSolo wrote: Bad job by both Cliff and Beltran not knowing that this kid will go to the hook with 2 strikes...he did it to Valentin just two days ago. Shit, bad job by Beltran... because he did it to Cliff two batters ago! Hell, even I called the curveball there! Either way... I'm fine with Heilman -- I didn't want Wagner there, but I thought Cliff was a terrible mistake. (Of course, if he makes contact with that first swing he took, he's Kirk Gibson, but whatever. It's still a play I don't like.)
  6. NO NO NO NO. Goodbye, Cliff. He's worthless as a bench player. I hate to keep bringing up these pesky numbers, but he's zero for 19 with ten strikeouts as a pinch hitter in the last four years. You've done great things, Cliff, and I'll remember your years here fondly, but goodbye.
  7. I would be okay if they offered Dave Williams arbitration. Never hurts to have a lefty emergency starter in AAA.
  8. I'll watch bits and pieces if there's nothing else on, but otherwise I couldn't possibly care less.
  9. You know what pisses me off about Pujols? (He's gone from "a hell of a hitter" to "I hate that guy" status this series, by the way.) They made a big fucking deal about his hamstring today... "oh, he's injured, he's injured." Like they were making excuses for why he's sucked to this point. I don't want to hear the crap, Cardinals. If he's hurt, get him out of there. (See "Floyd, Cliff.") If he's in the lineup, I don't want to hear about the fucking hamstring.
  10. Ah, the strike-em-out-throw-em-out double play, the pitcher's best friend.
  11. Linda Cohn from ESPN was on with Joe Beningo yesterday... apparently, she's a big, big, big Mets (and NY Giants) fan.
  12. There's a playoff game tonight? I knew I was missing something.
  13. Yeah, give him one more inning... but if he can't find the strike zone, Willie needs to RUN out there and get him outta there.
  14. Boy, when Perez is on, he makes hitters look stoopid.
  15. Cliff Floyd is still a relevant contributor to the offense.
  16. Hey, it could be worse... we could be Yankee fans.
  17. What dickhead is outside in 30-degree weather shooting off firecrackers around here? Must be a Tigers fan.
  18. If anything, Steven Tyler's a Red Sox fan... they're Bostoners. (And Steven was born in the 40s, very pre-Mets.) Although it's interesting that he's in St. Louis, because he's sung the anthem in St. Louis before.
  19. "Triboom"? Interesting. Seems a bit of a stretch, Z. But we'll go with it.
  20. 2006 Mets Largest Lead Overcome: 6 runs (August 22nd vs St. Louis, trailed 7-1 in 5th, won 8-7) Let's get it started! LET'S
  21. Nobody I'd rather have starting Game 7 than Darren Oliver. I can't wait. Might as well start Chris Woodward.
  22. They brought the trainer out, allowing Oliver all the time -- well, shit, Tim Mac just said what I was going to say.
  23. GET HIM THE FUCK OUT OF THERE.
  24. Fuckshit. I hate this game.
  25. I was about to go all apeshit on Willie for letting Trax get an extra day between starts by pushing him back to Game 3, because I thought I remembered him being worse with more than usual rest... but his ERA this year was almost a run and a half lower when he had more rest. By the way, nice fucking inning, Mets. Dammit.
