  1. We win the trade! Woo hoo!
  2. Never mind change for change's sake. We got a younger player with better years ahead of him. Love it.
  3. I like this trade. A lot. Church is what he is; he's not going to get any better. Francoeur is a kid who had two very good years, then a down year, which enabled the Mets to get him cheaply. Thanks, Omar.
  4. You know, Werth and Victorino -- as much as I hate both of them -- are better than anything we're putting in the outfield right now, and quite frankly, if they'll help the Mets get home field advantage in the World Series, I'm all for it, especially if they seriously injure themselves while they do it.
  5. I like how guys like Ryan Theriot are running toward the giant arch. Calm down, Ryan. You're getting a three-day vacation, not a trip to St. Louis.
  6. And still spelled wrong, even with the edit.
  7. Wasn't Pedro Feliciano in the Reds system for a few minutes?
  8. Tom Heise becomes #371 today. 1962 Mets: 13 (Anderson, Bouchee, Cisco, Craig, Herrscher, Hickman, Hook, Hunter, Jackson, Kranepool, MacKenzie, Pignatano, Thomas) 1969 Mets: 22 (Agee, Boswell, Charles, Dyer, Garrett, Gaspar, Grote, Harrelson, Heise, Jackson, Jones, Koosman, Kranepool, Martin, McGraw, Pfeil, Ryan, Seaver, Shamsky, Swoboda, Taylor, Weis) 1986 Mets: 36 (Anderson, Backman, Berenyi, Carter, Cashen, Darling, Dykstra, Elster, Fernandez, Foster, Gibbons, Gooden, Harrelson, Hearn, Heep, Hernandez, Horwitz, Davey Johnson, HoJo, Kiner, Knight, Leach, Lyons, Magadan, Mazzilli, McDowell, Mitchell, Niemann, Orosco, Pavlick, Bill Robinson, Santana, Stottlemyre, Straw, Teufel, Mookie) Non-Met Mets: 12 (Matthew Broderick, the late Brian Cole, Ralph Kiner, Gary Cohen, minor leaguers Yusmeiro Petit, Nick Abel, & Curtis Pride, WFAN's Steve Somers and Ed Coleman, Gov. 11. You know why I hat baseball? Seven hours ago, I was ready to break up this team and trade everyone not named Wright, Reyes, or Santana. One win later, and I'm ready to deal the entire farm system for Roy Halladay and make a run at a title. (sigh)
  12. You know, the more they show the Murphy replay, the stupider that little backhanded flip is, though, especially considering they followed it up with a base hit. That ball trickles away from Parnell, and we're blasting Murphy.
  13. [ashie] Daniel Murphy, your 2009 NL Gold Glove winner at first base. [/ashie]
  14. MiniWolf has enjoyed hitting off the tee lately. He makes me get my glove, then sets up the tee in the driveway and whacks the ball into the street, saying "I'm David Wright! I'm Number Five!" He can also sing (badly) the Jose Jose Jose song.

    Drought

I thought it was Gary who lurked. Guess it's both of them.

    WATPs

I hate this middle-of-the-road bullshit, because you know Omar's going to do something stupid like trading every chip we have to pick up some suckass middle reliever. Soup's right. Let it go, Omar. It ain't happening this year, and we're okay with that. Trade the pieces who might have value to good teams (Cora, Schneider, Delgado if and when he comes back, Church, Reed, Feliciano, even Wagner if he looks healthy) for system depth and let it go.
  17. Honestly, that's really all we can hope for with this team. "Don't get embarrassed, fellas!"
  18. Fman99 wrote: No cameras in the bullpen. Puh. Theh. Tic. You know? That's such a seemingly insignificant thing, but I think it's emblematic of what a clusterfuck this season is. I've said it before -- what is taking them so long to remedy that? Is it so fucking hard to stick a camera up in the corner and run a couple of wires? Call a fucking guy and get it done. Your broadcasts look like ass. Not that it matters, because everyone's already turned off the fucking game by the time we start worrying about who's in the bullpen. And not that it matters who's in the bullpen, because they're all interchangeable bags of suck.
  19. I haven't watched a single inning of this game. And I don't even want to. This team has become so horribly unwatchable that I don't even think I would mind if they got rid of just about everyone.
  20. Centerfield wrote: We're never going to win another game. Ever. Pretty much.
  21. Ryan Freel is a Royal. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/news/story?id=4309328 (I would love Freel as a Met.)
  22. I have Sean Green as #849 to start -- and you're missing Switzer, Dessens, and Misch at the end.
  23. ARE YOU GUYS FUCKING KIDDING ME!?! YOU JUST STAND THERE AND WATCH THE BALL DRIBBLE AWAY?!?! TV off. I give up. Unfuckingreal.
