    I guess that's why he never responded to my autograph request. Jay's as iconic a Mets figure as there ever has been to me; he's been with the team longer than I've been a fan, so I figured he'd be fun to add to the collection. I guess not.

    We did the color-matching game. I distinctly remember a severely beat-up Pedro Guerrero card that was something of an in-joke among us; it must have bounced around all of our hands at some point.

    I still have that jersey with the stupid tail under the name. It's the reason I always wear my grey "NEW YORK" away jersey to games.

    I want to buy a box of 1985 Topps commons and teach MiniWolf how to flip. Not old-skool flip, but flip like we did in the mid-80s, with colors.
