  1. Bay out with a strained ribcage. Possible DL.
  2. Worries: the contract situations of Reyes and Fodriguez, Niese and Dickey repeating last year, Bay remembering how to hit home runs.
  3. Perpetual Pedro to the DL for the Yankees to start the season.
  4. Edgy DC wrote: Yeah, Irish is stretching beyond his comfort zone there. Good show. And a sweet scoop for the slumping Tracky Fedoriani. Because he's in there too, disguised as a hat rack.
  5. You wonder, with both teams looking to just get rid of nearly identical contracts, if they ever considered a Perez-Silva "challenge" trade early in the spring.

    Evans

I've never been enamored of Evans, but I do get the sense that he's a guy we're going to regret letting go of some time down the road.
  8. 93-59, good for first place and an easy route to their third Series title.
  9. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: MFYs trade Sergio Meat Tray to Milwaukee. For Prince Fielder, Zack Greinke, Ryan Braun, Corey Hart's sunglasses, the Italian Sausage, and Gorman Thomas' mustache. I don't know how they do it.

Cut his sorry ass. Teach these fuckers a lesson.
  11. I thought it was the Brian Cole Award? That must be something else.
  12. Clark was eaten by a dragon in 1995.

    Ollie

Two guys I wanted off my team are now off my team, but they've gone to division rivals. This concerns me, for no really good reason.
  14. GNR had some depth. You're right; Canseco's Poison.
  15. Reggie Jackson is Aerosmith; long-term success, affiliated with lots of teams/genres (classic rock, hair metal, pop), became a caricature of themselves after a while. Jose Canseco is Bon Jovi; stars who can draw a crowd, but there isn't a whole lot of depth there.
  16. Nah, we're cool. I think I read that dickier than you meant it.
  17. See, you can either try to understand and enjoy Twitter, or you can be a dick about it.
  18. Neshek claimed by the Padres. Seems like a really good dude; old, though.
  19. Gwreck wrote: John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: That Cubs game will always stick with me. Not in an Ollie sense so much as I think it represented the death of the would-be 06 renaissance, the death of Shea Stadium, and the figurative shark over which the franchise jumped. I haven't felt the same about the Mets since. To be honest I've kind of been mad at them and feel like they deserve so much of the suffering they've endured. How depressing. Yet I agree 98%. Went back and looked at that game. Top of the 10th, Luis Ayala retires the first two batters before allowing, in order, single, double and home run. Mets lose 9-6. That was my last in-person Shea Stadium experience. Got there when they opened the gates, spent hours just soaking it all in.
  20. Pitched HUGE in big spots, otherwise largely worthless. One of the great Met enigmas. I look forward to him winning a Cy Young Award with Cleveland in 2016.
  21. Willets Point wrote: Willets Point wrote: I'd love to watch it end to end. Seconded. Come on SNY, there's only so many times I can watch a Damian Easley home run to win an April game against the Rockies as a "Mets Classic". I wonder who holds the rights for those game shown on SportsChannel and WOR. Pretty sure Fran Healy has them locked in his basement with the remains of Steve Zabriskie.

Coincidence? Just read through that thread , the ending sucked but the thread was great.... Damn, Soupcan told me to fuck myself?!?! you were a little curt with him though. Yeah, that was harsh.

  25. Minor issue: their "flashback" insert card celebrating the 1962 Mets has a b/w photo of Shea.
