  2. Dusty's already said that Phillips and Griffey will sit tonight's game with minor dings.
  3. Wow. May 8 and Schneider is looking for his first extra base hit. That stinks out loud. I noticed that since he's been back it seems like every throw trying to nab a base stealer was drifting right of 2nd and into right-center. Methinks he's still hurting in that thumb.

="AG/DC"]I don't know what to conclude, but "new ballpark effects are a lie" is a fair (though not necessarily accurate) inference to draw. TeamAvg. Att. NYM49,841 LAD46,622 STL41,036 CHC39,938 PHI39,122 HOU33,817 MIL33,764 SFG33,617 COL32,517 SDP30,770 WSN29,686 ATL29,646 ARI28,692 CIN21,713 FLA15,114 PIT15,114 Another possible conclusion: having the best record in baseball supresses attendance. :sigh: Good thing our new ballpark isn't large enough (by 4-5K seats) to accomodate this year's average attendance. Dopes.

With the 2006 Delgado MIA and Alou sitting 1/3 of the time I'd agree that Church should be hitting behind Beltran, assuming he continues to produce. Yet I cringe every time I see Castillo hitting in the two-hole. It seems to me that they are giving those at-bats away to "move runners up" and "make productive outs," i.e., instead of getting clutch hits and RBI's (yesterday being the exception and not the rule). I think Luis Castillo feels about RBI's the same way Tom Cruise feels about vaginas. He fears them, he doesn't understand them, and ultimately he should leave that work to someone better qualified.
  6. Maine - 4.5 Church - 1.5 Anderson - 1 Casanova - 1 Castillo - 1 Wright - .5 Pagan - .5

  8. There's a riot goin on.
  9. Wow Penny is over 100 pitches and Maine has thrown 44 through 4 innings. Looks like ol' Brad is "taking one for the team," Butters-style.
  10. Can I wear my Adrian Murrell #29 Jets jersey to the same party?

  12. I'll be able to catch some of it on my way home on XM. Nice to see (via the ticker) that they're playing well.
  13. KOMIYAMA 17 I swear I saw this last year on a t-shirt in the mezzanine last year.

  18. ="batmagadanleadoff"]="Valadius"]I've never heard the word "larrup" before. It's an ass-whuppin'. Larrup's the verb. I have a framed copy of this picture that my mother-in-law bought for me at a yard sale. I like having a picture of those two specific players without having to look at MFY uniforms or logos. Those were team names used when Gehrig and Ruth led contingencies of local players on off-season barnstorming tours in the late 1920s.

  22. Nice. That might have been a close play had the catcher not thrown to the wrong side.
