  2. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Philly.com reporting Wright in Philadelphia is 100% true and is available for the right price. Gee is also mentioned in the article. WOWSERS. You bastard.
  3. Cardinals rewarding Carlos Beltran with two years and $26 million, as well as a full no trade clause, sez the ESPN. Good for him. Seems like a lot of bread for a guy who couldn't stay on the field in 2009-2010.
  4. G-Fafif wrote: I'm saddened, from an Fman perspective, that a pitcher named Peacock will no longer be in the Mets' division. Well then, thank goodness for R.A. Dickey.
  5. Isn't that where moles always hang out? What's there to organize exactly?
  6. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Uncut and uninterrupted. Some women like it uncut. I personally think it looks weird that way. It's got no face. Wait, what are we talking about?

The world will have to live without "Wild Card," my tribute to the 1999 New York Mets set to the tune of Tone-Loc's "Wild Thing." Good luck sharpie. I'm off to take a nap. 8. The voice doesn't mean much. Wayne Hagin has a pleasant baritone and he's INSUFFERABLE. Because he doesn't know the team's history, he doesn't have the pedigree.
  9. For $25 million can I get Mr. Met to toss my salad?
  10. Crikey. Quite a haul for one guy. Volquez alone is comparable in terms of potential goodness, let alone three blue chippers.
  11. Edgy DC wrote: Willis is kind of a certain breed o' pitcher --- I count Oil Can Boyd and Jos Lima among them --- that experience a period of success early in their careers, and develop a public persona as a successful pitcher who brings a level of panache to his game. When continuing that success proves elusive, these guys enter these long, slow, pretty declines, with brief puffs of the old goods --- but they have the dignity to fail with no less panache than they succeeded with. I'm still a big fan of Mrs. Lima and her oil cans.
  12. Phil Mushnick [Fri - NYPost]: Its doubtful Wayne Hagin will be back for a fifth year as Howie Roses partner in the Mets radio booth. Hagins contract has expired and WFAN has been interviewing possible replacements.

  16. "Now, this is my deal here Wade, just give me the money, MLB specifically told me they want to deal with me here Wade. This is MY DEAL." "Listen, Jeffy, no offense, but I don't want you fucking this whole thing up like you do everything. Gave all that money to Jason Bay, for Chrissakes."
  17. These guys all suck. Meh.
  18. Edgy DC wrote: Are we having a Christmas meetup? Because I totally want Steve to show us his basket. Jeez. All I got from Joe Pepitone was a swat on the ass and cab fare.
  19. Dang, I'm disappointed that I won't be able to write a Lastings Milledge parody which was my plan had I beaten MF. Had some good hip hop stuff in mind for that one, too.
  20. I'm all in on Mrs. Hefner. She done got some feeders on her.
  21. Interesting reading here on the MLB testing process. My favorite snippet: Each test is monitored closely, from the collection phase to the final administration of testing. When a player is selected for random testing, he is taken to a "clean area" designated in each clubhouse. He is observed urinating in a provided sample cup, which is sealed and initialled. (Observed? Yes, that means what you think. The "full stream" must be visible from player to cup.) That sample is prepared and sent to MLB's designated lab. This is someone's job, to watch MLB players arc whizz into cups all day. Hilarious.
  22. I've moved on. Let the kids play! I'm a Ruben Tejada fan.

  24. metirish wrote: I want Murphy healthy to see what he can do for a full season, three hole? Do you sit Turner then, make him a bench guy, to give Murphy the chance to play? Or do you take at bats away from Tejada to get Turner and Murphy both on the field? I know, these things often work themselves out, I'd like to see a healthy Ike Davis out there at 1B in the worst way right now, but, there's only so many positions on the field. Too bad none of them can catch.
