  1. Twice a week when the Mets are winning it's awesome
  2. Caught our first Syracuse Mets game of 2026 yesterday, as my wife's work had a group meetup there and we sat up in the GA seats on a cool, cloudy, low 50's day and watched them lose 7-3. Not a ton of blue chippers in the lineup, though we did score free promotional Jonah Tong jersey tee shirts that are pretty nice. I'd have picked a more economical outing, personally - my son, who works in the gift shop, did not correctly put in our comp tickets request, so I had to pay for our seats which made me a bit surly. (Also because the weather was crud and my wife has some annoying coworkers). Two bleacher seats, parking, two (craft) beers, a hot dog, and a burger/fries basket for my wife and I set us back $100. For two people. We still had fun.
  3. Yeah I plan on stomaching ads and saving $25 so I don't see the need to show which of us are "premium" users. But that's just me.
  4. Just brutal at the plate. We watched but did not enjoy their performance.
  5. It was mentioned on the broadcast that he had also served a stint as the Braves GM and made the decisions to draft Glavine and trade for Smoltz, among others. Which I did not know.
  6. I don't know that I have a single memory of Paul Sewald as a Met
  7. AJ Pierszynski is the jock and Ken Rosenthal is the big nerd in the bow tie in the Gelbs position. I don't know who the PBP guy is, some other dud
  8. These announcers suck in the generic way that all national baseball broadcasters suck.
  9. Ugh a FOX broadcast combined with the post-mortem love fest of Bobby Cox. Off to a roaring start, here, national broadcast
  10. Come to CIti Field for a commemorate Craig Kimbrel jersey, complete with giant fork sticking out of the back between his numbers
  11. Let the good times roll! Suddenly less terrible Mets look for the sweep today. A 3:10 PM EDT start for Christian Scott as the Mets will face off against old teammate Jose Quintana.
  12. Replay fail. He was safe
  13. Nice work by Peralta to get out of a jam
  14. MAGA Thor sucks even more than LA Dodgers Thor (1-4, 7.16 ERA)
  15. Like MM I am always optimistic. I've certainly been despondent at times this spring but it helps that they've been bad on West Coast time for much of it, and I've been able to just go to bed and dream about better Mets performances.
  16. Curt Schilling is stupid. Let's not discount that.
  17. Missed the entire first half of this game as it was too nice outside and so the wife and I had dinner on our patio and as soon as I turned it on, Benge went yard and it got good. So you're welcome.
  18. Freddie Peralta taking the bump for an 8:40 PM start. We're trending positively, friends EDIT: Now a 9:20 PM start for Wednesday's game.
  19. I can't believe all the nasty things Suzyn would confess to him. No wonder he died
  20. I've driven many miles on I-86, which is also NY State Route 17 in many stretches where they still have traffic lights and businesses right along the road. It was my primary method of traveling back and forth between Ulster County where I grew up and SUNY Geneseo where I matriculated. It is in fact a beautiful stretch of highway in many places, particularly west of Binghamton as you head towards Bath, NY. But yes, Mets hitters should hit more YYYBBB
  21. Great outfield defense today, nice catches by both Menendez and Benge
  22. Look at your Mets, coming off a road series win. I like their chances of exacting some revenge for the humbling they received at the hands of the Rockies at home.
  23. Insurance runs make me happy
  24. A 4:05 PM start, which I always like on a Sunday as it's post nap and something to have on while prepping for the week and making a Sunday night dinner. Clay Holmes on the bump
