  7. Per Howie Rose on X: "Since June 3 (81 games, or a half season worth) the Mets are 52-29. That's a 104-win pace, not a mirage. The Mets are good, get on board"
  8. Vientos is this year's version of 2023 Alvarez. Lets hope he does not regress in 2025.
  9. The AL Central is a collective 38 games under .500. Four of the five teams in that division are currently playing better than .500 ball!
  10. An 0-10 homestand is hard to fathom. They have to play better than .500 from here on in to avoid ignominy.
  11. A 7-3 road trip is good no matter who you play. It was almost a 9-1 trip but I'll take this anytime.
  12. 5. Kevin Elster
  13. 2. David Segui
  14. Mendoza said in the post-game presser that its not even a question at this point---he's staying. Manaea today means three lefties in a row. The radio booth asked when the last time that happened (three lefty Mets starters in a three game series)----those who didn't listen, have at it.
  15. Went to this game on a last-minute lark. $21 tickets with access to the Ceasars club that allowed us to dodge the raindrops. fantastic start by Sevy and a really good crowd. Got there too late for the OMG tee shirt that some clown tried to trade to me for an $18 beer. Hard pass.

  17. [bLOCKQUOTE]Dom Smith will be DFA by the Red Sox , according to a MLB insider on Twitter[/bLOCKQUOTE] I wished he couldve latched on somewhere. Seemed like an awesome clubhouse guy but not quite skilled enough with the bat to stick round and justify his draft position. My guess? MLB ambassador for inner city youth leagues or somesuch
  18. Mike Cubbage, 74.
  19. [bLOCKQUOTE]The Mets should go 7-3 on this swing and if they win less than that I think it's a letdown.[/bLOCKQUOTE] I thought the same but they'll have to run the table to make this happen now.
  20. Slate pulls no punches with the Pale Hose: https://slate.com/culture/2024/07/baseball-chicago-white-sox-trades-worst-mlb-team-ever.htmlhttps://slate.com/culture/2024/07/baseball-chicago-white-sox-trades-worst-mlb-team-ever.html
  21. Good lord the White Sox are horrible.
  22. Lundy--thanks for the very happy recap! Sounds like a great evening.
  23. Christopher Morel the headliner in the return for Paredes in a change-of-scenery challenge trade for 3B men
  24. As the deadline approaches, some notable deals are happening: Reliever AJ Puk goes from Miami to NL pennant winner and wildcard contender Arizona for a pair of mid-level prospects. Tamps Bay sends Randy Arozarena---who would've looked good in Mets colors--to Seattle, a team they trail by half a game in the standings--for the #14 and #15 prospects in the Mariner system.
